Re: Muncie M20 vs M21? (Flareside)

Switching from a M21 to a M20 wont change you highway cruse RPM's at all. Fourth gear is 1 to 1 in m20, M21 and M22. You can only lower your highway RPM by increasing your tire diameter, lowering...

Re: Group Purchase of Steeroids is set. *Sign in here.* (Speed Direct)

Speed Direct,
I have manual steering. I'd like to switch to power rack and pinion. So all I need is your kit and a pump from a Corvette parts supplier, right? The year of the pump the same as the...

Re: Selling my '68 (Madmikeee)

Skip the haggling? $24,000. This car has a lot of...'StUFF" to it. Don't buy it if you're shy.

Re: You've heard of the "big bang" theory? (Barry's70LT1)

I once broke a cam. OK it wasn't in a Corvette but it was in a '70 RS/SS Camero with a M21 and 4.11's. Anyway the motor wouldn't turn over even with a breaker bar so I took the heads off. The vave...

Re: msd pro billet distributor (Rottenrob)

I got the MSD also. What I like most about it is the ease of altering the timing curve, I barely know one end of the distributor from the other and changed the MSD's curve in less than 5 minutes...

Good place for door panels?

My '68 is in a money eating mode. Now it's door panels. Anyone got a good place to get a pair? I'd rather use '68 panels but I'm told they wont fit without modifacation. So stock it is. Uuuugh. ...

Re: Upgrade the tranny (fauxrs)

But if your car is geared numerically high, you have the same problem with a Tremac as a Richman. I don't need the equivilant of 5.12 to 1 in first. I have to buy tires too you know!

'68='69 door panels

OK I'm a '68 guy but I've never liked '68 door panels. I have to replace mine now and since I don't care about "stockness" in the least I'd like to switch to '69 style (or later even) with the door...

Re: If price was not a factor (Pacin'California)

But it would be a MAJOR factor. You'd have to change a whole lot of stuff. It would probably be cheaper and EASIER to just get a ZR1, aluminum 600+ horsepower big block, from American Speed or a...

Re: Anyone else think this is a bit much for a small block?? (wadew10)

I agree totally! I mean if you only drove a car 5 miles a year, why? Did it break down a whole lot? I remember a artical in a Corvette mag a while back about a Pace Car '78 that the original owner...

Re: Stinger Hood vs Hi Rise (AlwaysWave)

On a '68='72 you have to lose the wimper, I mean wiper door and recontour the fenders a little to make the tops of the fenders like a '73 up. Personally I prefere the...well just look.

Re: Upgrade the tranny (mrvette)

That's my problem. I havr ovee 400 ft. lb. or torque and 3.70 gears in the rear. With the 26.06" tires, it comes out to 3.82. The the 2.20 first gear is plenty to smoke the tires stupid if I'm not...

Re: Put my 80' Duntov again on Ebay (GrandSportC3)

Hey good luck! :D And let us know how it goes. I've often wondered about E Bay myself. Both how I would could use it to sell or even buy a car. I guess I'm just too old fashioned. Just seemes...

Re: Why did you REALLY buy a Corvette? (tnt76vette)

So many reasons I've always been a "Corvette Guy."
The stock performance (a good STARTING point).
The only real sport/muscle/ car that really does handle and accellerate the way I like without...

Re: What do I need to look for in buying a '68 (Digital Killer)

I LOVE '68's! I've had one before this one. I have a feeling you are sort of like me in regards to originality. I bought mine for $10K also but I was further blessed by it not having a numbers...

Re: LT1 1969? (999)

Everything is "smog legal" on a '69 in Galifornia now. No more checks. Well I guess you could get in trouble if you parkrf a gross polluter on the Governers lawn and killed his daiseys with exhaust...

Re: 1968-1972 (theandies)

It's a matter of taste really. The '70's are the most valuable because of the GM strike that year and resulting low production numbers.
By the way, this is my second '68 and I know a lot of people...

Damn that was good Stan! I was going to post what I've heard but Stan's post makes any other post redundant.
On the subject of putting a LT1 in a '69, why? It wouldn't be stock anyway so why not...

Re: IT'S HARD TO BE COOL (jdharkey)
