I don't notice a seat-of-the-pants performance difference and it's hard to compare one tank to the next but using it in 3 of the last 5 fill ups but it does seem to give me ~8% mpg increase.

It's a common problem, I ended up cutting the plastic "tab", that locks the mechanism, off with a Dremel Tool. Now the shifter acts just like the original one in my '82. :thumbs:

I can see your point. My '82 has a knob that acts like a rheostat. At the slowest setting it about 30 seconds between swipes and at the max it almost constant. The C6 could use a wider range.
