Wow, its been along time since I have had access to the forum. I like the new layout and design. Now that I finally have a little time to spend in the States, its time for me to get my brakes up to...

Re: C3 Autocross (seansod)

I built mine for the street but knowing that I would autocross a lot. I have been to many meets and I would agree with Flynhi- go to a few events first and then build up from there. For your car's...

Increase or decrease swaybar size?

flynhi,
Good point with regards to that sight. The site shows that as I get ready to adjust my setup I should do it 1/8" at a time.

I'm experiencing slight understeer with my current set up (1...

Re: Which carpet for my '68? 80/20 Loop, or Cut Pile?? (Corey 68)

I decided to go with TrueVette- the same carpet found in C5s.

I had ACC custom mold C5 carpeting to my C3 shape and it worked GREAT. I can't get you any pictures right now, but just go look at...

I've always liked the Lightning...and after driving one (which was stock) I fell in love. I have been looking for a Black 2001 to replace my Jeep.

Great choice- post a pic if you ever get the...

Re: July 4 in Waco (NiftyRed)

Re: Tow Vehicle for my 81' (SharkByte)

I'm in almost the exact same position. I have a Charokee Sport (great for daily driving and their cheap to own/operate) but its about time to get rid of it. I have pulled my '81 with it- which it...

Where should I look for a pre-'80 transmission cross-member?

I have an '81 4-speed (for now) car with a stock transmission cross member that I would like to for one with dual exhaust humps. I am not happy with my dual exhaust trying to fit under the single,...

Re: My aftermarket wheel nightmare. (subboz)

Just an FYI: I think one of the problems people have voiced here on the forum with spacers/adapters, besides the issue of breakage, is the amount of stress that it places on the hub resulting in...

Re: Overdrive manual transmission options. (Electron2002)

Good Point Electron2002, the point of a OD is not performance.

Taijutsu,
I see what you are saying and I like your analogy. I think what you are saying is that one of the gears (output) is...

Re: Overdrive manual transmission options. (Taijutsu)

Taijutsu, I consider myself to have a bit of understanding about mechanical engineering theories and applications and you have me confused. I'm not saying that is a hard thing to do though. If you...

Re: 17in. club help! (Wightnite)

I have 2" offset T-Arms, the wheels have a 5" BS (no costly/dangerous adapters needed) and they don't hit my 1 1/8" sway bar or tie rods in front. In back I have a 3/4" sway bar which is cleared by...

Re: How fast is a ZZ4 converted C3? (wcsinx)

With the Hot Cam kit, full headers, 4-speed T10 and 3.36 I did the 1/4 mile in 12.98 sec. I think I hit 60 in ~ 4.8 sec according to my friends G-Tech. Traction, weight and suspension setup make...

Re: 17in. club help! (Wightnite)

I debated the same thing. I went with 285/40ZR17s and am quite happy. I switched my speedo drive gear (also changed the rear ratio) and I'm now 100% accurate. They completely fill the wheel wells...

Re: Thinking of buying these halfshaft loops and....... (Stephen DeFazio)

Probably worth the investment - I wish I had them when I popped an outside U-Joint last fall at the track. $500+ dollars worth of parts alone were needed to get it back on the road.

[Kansas City] Any Events going on this weekend (June 22/23)?

I'm going to be bringing my '81 back to Kansas to meet up with my friend who just bought a C4 and I was going to see if there were any auto-related events going on in the region.

Re: How much does your C3 weigh? (SteveG75)

I got my '81 down to 3130 lbs (normal driving condition except there was no driver or fuel)- Also, with 1/4 tank of fuel I have a perfect 50/50 weight distribution.

Re: '81 SUSPENSION ADVICE (Runner81)

Other items that would make an improvement that you can feel:
- new tie rod ends
- tighten up the steering box
and
- new HD Idler arm

Before I began, a fellow forum member had me read the VIP...

Re: Anyone ripped out all the air intake ducting on an '80... (Chris Fowler '80)

Hey Chris- I don't know if you've ever seen under the hood of my blue Vette but I pulled out that duct work when I swapped my engine out. I put in electric fans (best decision I made for here in TX)...

Re: 81 Vette... want a ZZ4 (deftones1407)

Yep. Great decision.

I had my 4-speed '81 for about 2 months and then pulled the original engine in favor of a ZZ4 which I have since modified. Its a pretty straight forward swap. You'll need...
