C4 to C5 Body Kit

Have you guys seen this C4 to C5 conversion kit? I think it looks pretty cool. I wouldn't personally do it to mine being that I'd be concerned that it would depreciate the value of the Colector Edition. But it would be fun to do to a project coupe. Have any of you seen or done this? If so, I'd love to see some pictures of the completed project.

first of all, it doesn't even look like a c5

it looks like crap, and probably doesn't fit any better

jay'szo6 10-19-2004 01:27 PM

No matter what, still looks like a C4 to me.

I'm with you on that one....... :iagree:

Just buy one of the one you don't have...can't cost too much more than parts, labor, and depreciation for a kit.

BigTexas 10-19-2004 03:39 PM

I love the look of the C4, especially the 95 and 96 models. I can't explain why...I guess it is more angular than the C5.

They're not, they are real. Notice they haven't installed the light kit.

86_RedRider 10-19-2004 05:08 PM

if you want the look of a c5, buy one. by the time you buy this kit, paint it, and install it, your time and money would have gotten you into a real c5.

the c5's would not except you and you would be disowned by the c4's.

Looks-wise I like it. However, I am in agreement that it is probably poorly executed and a dumb idea overall.

Is this a mandatory once a week topic? :willy: :willy:
These c4 to c5 conversion threads are just as bad as the floor mat body side moliding threads in c5.

I had body mods PERIOD. Besides that I would never screw up a nice vette to make it look like something it's not if I wanted another c5 I'll get one.

However, in those pics the c4 to c5 kit on that one looks the best out of what kits I've saw so far.

C4.5 10-19-2004 08:42 PM

I have one.... Now you all don't get rip me apart. It was already C5'ed when I got it... I loved the look of it and it was my first corvette (89 red convertible). I was offered $4000.00 more than I paid for it less than 2 hours after I bought it... Should have taken the money I guess but like I said it was my first. It looks ok with the exception of the deck lid. It just does fit 100% correctly and there is a problem with the top supprt wires rubbing on the deck lid... I have some fiberglass work this winter. I know this is not well received in the forums but I like it. I have had only positive comments on it thus far. Now trying to make amends I now have a 89 white coupe (all C4). Should be on the road within the month. Love it also!!!
