c4 twin turbo kits?
does anyone have any info on a c4 twin turbo kit for a 1992 vette?
|
There have been several companies that say they are coming out with a kit for the C4, but no one has seen one yet to my knowledge. If you have the dough for a turbo, it's a custom deal. Pay to have someone build it, or do it yourself. Those are the only options that I know of. Good luck!!!!!

They say there turbos are only good to 480hp. I wonder if they have upgrades to larger ones?

That is 480 (each), so your looking at 960hp for the base kit. You can upgrade up to 1600hp.

Guys
Got to be careful how to pick your turbo. It is not like the SC you can have a big SC and run larger pulley to keep the boost down. Where turbo let say you run the P67= 1600hp turbo. You gonna need a vety big and expensive wastegete to quickly get rid the exhaust to reduce boost. If I am doing a TT right now, I would go with the GT37 non ball bearing and only $400 more and good to 1500hp. That can easily get you 1200rwhp. Bruce |
I called Proturbos this morning. They are looking for a doner car to mock-up and to build their gigs with. I offered to trailer my car to Texas but they're looking for a virgin LTx based Vette...my car was too cut-up/non-stock. He did say they should have their kits availbale sometime in October for our cars. After speaking with him, I'm definately interested. If you guys are interested in buying my 8-rib drive and D1SC blower...they may be for sale this winter! If you call, ask for Dalton and tell him Chris sent ya!!

The kit will be a top mount system if space is available. Which will look alot like the Haltech system does on the C5's.
As for wastegates, the Tial 38mm will bleed enough boost for most of the turbos they offer. For the largest of the units, they will have options. As for turbos, I myself would go with the PT61's, which is enough for around 1400hp. They will spool quickly and keep the cost down. I will contact PTK so we can add them to the list. |
Haltech C5 twin turbo is the best looking system I have see and John Meaney TT C4

Give me that setup with 550-600 rwhp running like stock, and you can Count Me In! I wish this would happen. Jim |
It is going to happen. Right now its just a matter of getting a donor car in to do it.
