89' heater core

I used the fastguy method, removed the old heater core, replaced with new one, reinstalled everything, started car and new one leaked!!!!!!!, removed new heater core and soldered it up, replaced everything. No leaks second time. I did all of this in less than 4 hours and learned how to do it from you guys! I am new to the forum, this is my first submission. I didn't know I had so many friends, Thanks I really appreciate the help. [IMG][/IMG]

I know one thing...I know that I can come here 24/7 with just about any problem relating to Corvettes, and, with in a couple hours, sometimes minutes, have an answer and/or solution to my problem. Throw that in with all the advice, tech tips and expierenced Vette owners, you have something that is nearly priceless. This is really what the Internet is all about.

GREAT, I am glad that you where able to do it twice in a short period of time. I too own a 89 coupe with a broken heater core. I was hoping that you could pass the tech info about replacing it in a short period of time to me. My E-mail is RACING1320@aol.com
Funny how I found out I was leaking from the heater core. I was bracket racing the Vette at a Corvette Challenge in NJ and I was flagged off the starting line for leaking coolant. Long story short. Engine compartment was dry, But noticed a drip from the firewall. Thank God for someone being there asking me if I felt the carpet inside. I did feel the carpet, It was soaking wet. I loope the hoses and made it to the lanes for 1st round. I also won the event. :D
