Keisler Tremec TKO 5-speed transmission kit for sale

I've got a brand new, still in the box Keisler 5-speed kit that I'm not going to use. The TKO won't work with the rear I decided to install, so I have to get a different transmission. You'll have to wait 10+ weeks to get this from Keisler, you can have mine in a few days! Price, $2450 plus shipping (I paid $2900+).

I should ask is this the TKO or the TKO II? Also, what gears is the speedo cable set for?

Re: Keisler Tremec TKO 5-speed transmission kit for sale (1971Ultra)

1971Ultra, it's the regular $2900 TKO. I don't really like the overdrive ratio in the TKO II, and I know of lots of really fast Mustangs running the TKO without any problems at all. Shafi Keisler recommended this transmission for anything not involving forced induction or major nitrous.

IMO, the .87 overdrive of the TKO II is a big negative. If I needed more strength, I'd just install the TKO II third gear in the TKO I and have the best of both worlds. Third and fifth are different in the TKO II, everything else is the same.

Unfortunately, I need the speedo to be set for a 3.55. I don't think Keisler will switch it for me if I am cancelling an order. Any suggestions?

Oh boy would this slide into my car very well. It would also cure my leaky Muncie problem. I'd even pick it up. Lets see mmm how could I slip this past my wife. Do you still have it?

...or you can cheat :yesnod:
http://www.atrol.com/ go here and click on "Cable X" or "ERA" you'll enjoy these little do-hickies. :chevy Nothing like adjusting some DIP switches to change something as trivial as modifying your tire or gear ratios. My friend who installed a T56 into his '68 Chevelle pointed me to these neat toys

OOPS, sorry Flareside- I wasn't fast enough. You may have been able to use these in conjunction with ...... oohhhhh boy. DOH!

Re: Keisler Tremec TKO 5-speed transmission kit for sale (1969Vette350)

The Tremec speedo gear is a small plastic affair attached to the end of the speedo cable. You just remove the cable, clip on a new gear, then reinstall the cable. 5 minutes and 5 dollars.

Those electric speedo converters are pretty cool, but expensive. Now that the TKO and T56 are both available with a mechanical speedo, they're not too popular anymore.
