Spark Plug Wiring Diagram For 350 Small Block

Ok, this might sound funny... But.. I just bought new spark plug cables today... and I am trying to put them on. I did not forget how they were on there before I removed them... BUT.. I think they were on wrong already. I had some exhaust work done (because I was LAZY) and had headers put on. I think they screwed something up.. LIKE THE WIRING ORDER. It has been runny VERY BADLY since then... No Power.. nothing... The spark plug wires were badly burned by the heat from the headers (idiots didn't route them very well when they plugged them back in).

Does anyone have a diagram of how it SHOULD be wired?
To which spark plug.. etc? I have a few manuals and I can't find a diagram anywhere! Driving me crazy. I really need something to go from. I know that I should already know this, but I am sad to say that I do not know the right order. AND I am not 100% sure that I know the cylinder numbering order...
1,3,5,7 Driver's side front to rear.
2,4,6,8 Passenger side, front to rear.
Is this right???

I still don't know the order on the Distributor. NO CLUE!!!

Any help will be appreciated.. I want to drive my baby tomorrow... :jester

Thanx All!!

Wouldn't he have to be sure of rotor direction (clockwise) and which distributor hole is #1 ... but a manual would have it...Haynes, Chiltons...not to mention the hundreds of other valuable items in these books...

youll need to bring the number one cylinder piston up and determine where the rotor is pointing on the cap then go clockwise from there, and make sure its compression stroke .That would be number 1 then 8 4 3 6 5 7 2

I appreciate your answer.. but I have no idea what you mean...
"bring the number one cylinder piston up" how in the world do I do that?

and.. "make sure its compression stroke" what does that mean?

THANK YOU!

Where cylinder #1 wire is located can vary depending on model and year. However, a common location is at about 11 o'clock (standing behind the engine). Try it like that and see if it runs any better.
