COBRA KILLER!!!! The CHEETAH!

No...I'm not talking about that silly jazzed up Mustang GT that's floating around. I'm talking about the ORIGINAL AC Cobra that struck fear in the hearts of Vette owners in the mid 60's and originated the description "snakebit".

Well here's Chevy's answer to the Cobra. And holy smokes! It's freakin AWESOME! Not many of these cars still survive after a bad fire wiped out the factory. They usually have a couple at the Chevy Vettefest in Chicago. This one is a replica car but it's still pretty wild. I saw the real thing up close. The engine is almost NEXT to the driver. And the original had NO driveshaft...the transmission hooked DIRECTLY to the rear end! With a solid lifter 327 it was VERY unstable.

Pretty cool!

That's not a real bad price for what you get.

Not a bad price at all. If I had some garage space I'd seriously consider building one. Of course, they don't make a shoehorn big enough to squeeze my big gut in there :D
But I bet a 302 Z-28 (oh God...there I go AGAIN!) or a 360 horse 327 would be WILD in that thing!!!

There was a Dentist in the next town that had one a few years ago stored on a 60's car hauler in his shop. It was a drag car that was pretty nice. It had a Hilborn injected SBC in it. Wonder if it's still there?

FINALLY! A place that a 302 would be right at home. Dep you should of built one of these instead of rippin' the Vette up! Jim

I got to see these at the 2001 Vette-Fest in Chicago. Talked with the guy for a little while, it certainly is an interesting concept. 1700lbs certainly wouldn't take a lot of motor to turn it into a rocket.
