accel super ram

anyone know anything about this unit, it is a box like fuel injection unit designed by linginfelter for both small and big blocks. Like looks of tripower much better but was thinking of streetability and fuel mileage. It comes with comperter etc. but have to buy program to tune it on laptop. What do you guys think? Thanks.

I have the Super Ram on my 90 model C4 that I open road race. I also drive the car on the street a lot. I love the system overall. It really lets the motor breathe. You need to go with a complete package though. In other words, if you go with this intake you also need high performance heads and headers, etc.

If you have any questions, just ask.

I had one of my '91 C4 (took it off 2 weeks ago to sell). I had the Super ram, 58mm Throttle Body, and accell base. Made HUGE improvments over the anemic TPI. You have to keep in mine the TPI was designed for a 305, and the SR flows twice the air.

Does LPE make a kit for non-fuel injected/non-computer cars? I want to stroke my 350 to 383 one day and I think I want this system! How is the low end torque? I don't drive high RPM very often.

To my knowledge they do NOT offer a kit for a carb. The torque is unreal!! A typical 383 would have a 450-480tq and still be emissions and Cali. legal. My Super Ram C4 vert. with 3.73 gears was an ANIMAL on the street.

When is LPE going to get a carb version? Everything thing I have heard about the superRam is very positive!

I had a SuperRam/DFI 383 in my car before I built the SBC 427. It was a good manifold, amkes tons of torque, and pretty decent hp. The rpm range is limited to around 5800-6000 rpm or so, but for an average built 383, that's plenty. I made almost 500 ft lbs and 450hp+ with that manifold (ported), 10.7 CR, a mech roller cam, and AFR 210 Comp Ported heads. It fits under the stock hood.

Monty, is there a way to get the SuperRam into a 69 vette?

Your 427 is AWESOME. How you gotten it into the car car and driven it?

Re: accel super ram (69stingray)

I would assume so. As I mentioned, it fit under my '82 hood, although I did have to remove the air chamber that directed air to the throttle bodies (cross-fire injection). That' shouldn't apply to you '69 obviously.

Thanks, the picture above in my sig is the engine installed in the car. I've put a few hundred miles on it already. The tranny is out right now, I'm building it up with a Transgo Reprogramming kit and high-energy clutches and Kolene steels to handle the power.
