I am not excited over the drop down screen. Having the multi function screen wiring subjected to continuous flexing will over time cause problems. I cycled mine once, it works. Not sure how much use my drop down will see?

On older door openers there's a "second step" that requires you to press a learn button on the opener box, then run to the car and press the homelink button until it works - 30 second time limit.

Posted just in case some people have problems with the one step process.

Either way, once programmed it works from a good distance. I hit it before I even enter our driveway and the door starts to open. :thumbs:

GM is in business to make profit. They need to put items into the options list to get people to buy them.

I personally think the 2LT & 3LT are a huge rip off but if you want some of those options you need to step up and pay.

Like others have stated, go buy the visor and install it.

True dat. I just hope the wiring for the visor is in place to connect and operate the Homelink.

It is, that's why I and other's are advising to buy one from one of our supporting dealers and install it.

It's plug and play, get's power form the same harness that powers the mirror.

When I went to purchase my Vette there were certain options I wanted and Homelink
was one of them.I reviewed the option list for the 2lt and base as well as the 3lt and
looked at what I wanted to spend and what options were important to me.

After looking over the various options and features I went with what I wanted,did not
want to do add ons to fill a void if I could avoid it with a package,so yes overpriced but
only if you get something you did not want for me the 2lt gave me everything I wanted and I am happy with it.

I agree with the phone, no Blue Tooth and I let OnStar elapse. I turn my phone on when I want to make a call! When driving, I enjoy driving and watching out for all those on cell phones and worse texting! In fact when in town, I turn on the phone on my last stop to call my wife to see if she wants anything. No need to have her calling to say, go here or go there!
The garage door opener was very easy to program, even with my 17 year old Sears system, so did do that.

It always seems to be a problem on the passenger side door. Thought they would have got a new guy to adjust the doors by now... :yesnod:

I don't really see this as an issue. Laptop screens have the same type of flexible ribbon connector and they get flexed way more often than the console screen will.

What a POS my first Corvette, an all original, Charcoal, '58 4-speed Fuelie w/ultra rare RPO 684 (Heavy Duty Racing Suspension - only 51 built) was. No P/S, no P/B, no power windows, no automatic climate control, no cupholders, no bluetooth, no MP3, no CD player, no tilt/telecopic steering wheel, no HUD, no parking sensors, no electric doors, no key fob, no Homelink, No NAV, no OnStar, etc. Just pure, unadulterated, driving fun. I still love my C6Z though...for the handling and performance, not all the gingerbread.

I've never been a fan of the built in garage door openers cars offer. Someone breaks into your car, steals it, goes through the glove compartment and boom. Address found and access to your home with a push of a button.

At $4200 for 2LT, that is one expensive garage door opener. :eek:
