Ralph Gilles, CEO of SRT and Chrysler LLC’s Vice President of Product Design, has been known to be outspoken. In 2012 on Twitter he told Donald Trump “You are full of ****!” after Trump said Chrysler was going to send all Jeep manufacturing to China. Big words from the company that brings you the Fiat 500

The car finished last in the best drivers car challenge this year. They said the build quality was so bad. I read they have sold less than 700 so far.

Between the January, 2013 start of Viper gen-five customer sales, and November 30, 2013, Viper sold 432 units.

“We’re trying to build a custom show car that you can own. This is not a disposable device here.”

Doesn't sound like he's calling the Corvette a disposable device at all.

While they beat the C7.Rs it's worth noting that Corvette Racing is starting the season with a new car, so there are some bugs to shake out for sure. The Viper didn't do so great last season.

It sounds like a CEO whose flagship product is struggling mightily. Now with the C7Z revealed, SRT will have its hands full selling its halo car. It must be a frustrating time to be Ralph Gilles.

I love Vipers, and I may get one someday (an earlier generation, albeit), but it's gut-check time for those guys right now.

Hard to dispose of something, when noone is buying it.

Its pretty pathetic when the first time I saw the 2013 Viper in person.. was a few days ago at the start of the DC Auto show. Even sadder when you consider I hit quite a few car shows and cars & coffee events during the summer. Seems noone has one.. and noone even wants one.

I used to lust over the viper. It was kinda my dream car but always to expensive. So now I'm older and I have 70k to buy my dream car.

Sorry mr CEO the viper wasn't even on my radar.

The c7 looks atleast 3 times better

Had one of those as a rental car last week... I'm cool with the idea of 'hot hatches' and speedy little euro-cars, but outside of winding the motor up that thing was a horrid piece to drive... and I'm saying that with the fact the rental I'm driving this week is a Toyota Corolla. :ack:

PUGPROUD 01-28-2014 07:29 PM

To quote Bill Parsells "You are as good as your record !" In this case "You are as good as your sales figures...sorry Ralph the market has spoken." Also don't look now but the Z06 is about to eat your breakfast, lunch and dinner !
