removing the scratches from fingernails on interior door handle area?

I have many scratches from either fingernails and wedding ring on the plastic on the frontmost upper part around door handle. Ive tried the 303 cleaner, but the scratches are deep. I thought I saw a thread on how to remove these, but cannot find it now when searching. Can someone please offer advice or point me in the right direction if this is documented already? thx

Without painting them, I don't know that there is much you can do except covering the scratches (if they are as deep as you say - and it is a tough spot to buff). Try something like this...

I had the exact same problem. Got tired of trying to get them (ring scratches) out with no success. I finally bought leather wraps with Velcro, installed in 2 min and problem solved.

That is what I did.

That's just gross. 5 years driving mine and not one scratch, I guess I know how to use nail clippers. :hide:

I had the same problem---scratching the handle with my wedding ring. I solved it by replacing the plastic handle with the leather-covered handle from a 4LT car. Looks much better than the wrap.

PacificaVette, do you have a picture of your 4LT pulls that you can post? I'm considering the same solution but I've never seen the 4LT door pulls. I'm not sure the stitching they have would look right in my 3LT interior.

Thanks.
