06, 19,000 miles, never checked, no problems and no strange noises. I have no plans to check. I'm just driving it and enjoying it. Maybe ignorance is bliss :D

That's like asking, 'How you doing', just before getting into a firefight. Ask me again tomorrow.

This poll is fine for the people who have inspected and came back clean and have no issues. The other people who are voting but have not inpected are not "having issues" but also don't know if they have "the issue". :D
I can understand the position because its EXACTLY how I feel about the SS modification that we are being told has "no issues". However without proof of inspection and proving no wear issues it is impossible to say they have no issue or are "fixed". argumentum ad ignorantiam The absence of evidence is not evidence of absence. If we can say that about the SS modification we can say it about cars that have no issue but have not inspected. |

At what point on the odometer would you agree that some of us just are not going to have an issue?( 40K,65K,100K?) I tend to agree with someone earlier that stated he does not get into it until his oil temp reaches 150*. I firmly believe that this one adjustment to driving a DD something else that makes a big difference with our Z's.

Temps play a huge roll I agree. I bet if you were to correlate the failures and where the cars were driven more failures come from colder climates. I can drive 25 miles and still not be at full temp in the NE. I have watched endless people cold start and redline bouncing off the limiter while roasting the tires out of a parking lot way too many times. That cant be good for the valve train. In my opinion I would say if you get to 30-40K of measured guide miles with no issues of out of spec or close to out of spec wear you got yourself a good one. |
08 17500 no problem this poll went to h&ll in a hurry.

I don't get this thread or the other one
It's like asking people to vote if they like Obama Care and not to vote if they don't like Obama Care and sure enough 100% like Obama Care or they don't know yet. Shouldn't a valid thread have: If your car's motor is stock and you have (or have not) measured your valves (or your engine has blown up with valves the issue) 1) Have you had your valves checked Yes No 1) If you have measured, are your valves out of spec Yes No 2) Has your engine blown up Yes No Doesn't this seem more useful? |
Yes

06 is stock no problems 60,300 miles
|
This pole is only counted cars still working. the ones who checked and still working and the cars not checked and still working.
it does not count the cars thats failed. What you need is a pole to get numbers. My LS7 dropped a valve @ what mileage Mine Has not @ what mileage. Then you would see relative % of failer LS7 owners on here. |
