Stingray at invoice?

This dude was offered the C7 at invoice. Anybody from KY knows about this dealer?

Facially absurd.

So do we know if anyone has actually used any incentive programs with success--or if its even possible at this stage?

Things like;

Costco car buying program
GM Supplier discount
Other incentives i've never heard of :)

Daekwan06 09-25-2013 05:40 PM

I'd have to see it to believe it.

I cant imagine any dealer would agree to invoice right now. Especially with one allocation. Hell, have they never heard of Ebay? They could sell that car in minutes advertised at just $1K under MSRP.

450hp mike9 09-25-2013 05:41 PM

The GM. Card is eligible .

texvette2 09-25-2013 05:42 PM

It could be this dealer had an allotment. Could care less about dealing with a
Corvette. They are a headache if don't have the volume to warrant a
repair department. So get a sure sale, get it off your hands asap.

Not everyone cares about the car. Its just another chevy. That looks like a ton
of asian sport cars. Closest dealer hear, said can get a car. But they will not
service it. Have to take it to Big H town.

Nobody got 1 allocation. If you were eligible you got at least 4.

If the story is even true, which I doubt based on the source (viper forum) my guess is that it is a dealer with no allocation who thinks if they take a deposit with a "sold" order maybe GM will give it to them.

Yup, just another Chevy. 'cause the press and everyone gets just as excited and there is a huge whirlwind every time a new Spark, Sonic, Cruze or Impala get released.
The C7 is a dead ringer for the Asian Nissan GT-R. I can't tell the difference.

But wouldn't that dealer have had to invest in sending someone out for the mandatory GM course in order to receive a C7 in the first place?

Dave,

My local dealer hasn't sold a new Corvette since 2010. They have a customer who wants to order a new Vette. They think they can order the car and because it is a sold order GM will pull and build it.

I said didn't you get the memo about selling 4 cars in a one year and buying tools and sales and service training? The manager said that does mean anything when it is a retail sold order. What are you going to tell your customer in six months when the order is still at 1100?

TacDoc 09-25-2013 10:31 PM

True. 3300 status per GM'er

For those of us not Viper Forum members, can you detail the offer you were made to purchase a C7 at Invoice?

For some reason Dave@kerbeck was trolling the viper forum and caught my post there, yet missed my post here the day after my wife and I got this offer. Do a forum search for my posts and you will find the original thread. Absolutely dumb luck. Maybe Dave should do his good customers a big favor and give them discounts.

Thanks. for those who don't want to search, here it is. Being in a thread that appeared to be about USAA insurance, I didn't read it until just now.
