Rear hatch pull down problems
 

Until recently I could close my rear hatch by letting it down gently then pushing down and the motor would suck it down the rest of the way. Now when I do that it latches but the motor doesn't pull it down. However when I slam it hard I can hear the motor run and it closes properly. What causes this motor to operate and is there some adjustment to it?

AFAIK it isn't adjustable/repairable/serviceable.

Thanks Rick T. It looks like I am not the only one with this problem. I guess I will need to R & R the whole assembly when it finally fails.
