A 57' two door Chevy. I think it was a 210 with a 283 V-8. My sister gave it to me because it burned too much oil. I only kept it a few months and sold it to get my first Vette, a Red 60' vert with both tops. All this was in 1967.

I seem to have stumbled onto a "rich man's" forum.
My first car was a 1941 Chevrolet, 4 door (in 1958). And to get it I had to build up the engine myself. With my Dad's supervision. 216 cubic inches or raw power with vacuum shift, split manifold, 2 glass packs and plenty of "flex-pipe" and bailing wire. Most of you guys don't know the thrill of building and repairing you cars from wrecking yard parts. If the wrecking yard owner didn't know you by your first name, you were no one! Oh; I almost forgot. And a "reverb" unit on the radio. How many of you remember those? I thought so. |
My first car was a 1960 MGA 1600 - baby blue w/wire wheels.
Enjoy, akriggm |
1969 Chevelle SS. totaled it 3 weeks after I got my Drivers license. Next car was a Mustang 2 (it did have a v6 though). was the car I learned to drive a standard.
