OFFICIAL (yes, official) - Shipping Starts Today!

General Motors Co. said Wednesday that it has started shipping its seventh-generation 2014 Chevrolet Corvette Stingray coupe to dealers across the country.

The Detroit-based automaker said about 1,000 new Corvettes have been built at its Bowling Green Assembly Plant in Kentucky and should be delivered to dealers within the next few weeks.

“It’s an amazing sight to see the transporters filled with Stingrays heading to customers in all corners of the country,” Dave Tatman, plant manager of GM’s Bowling Green Assembly Plant said in a statement. “The pride at Bowling Green is overwhelming and it shows in the tremendous quality and attention to detail going into each one of these new Corvettes.”

The 2014 Corvette Stingray coupe begins at $51,995 and a convertible, starting at $56,995, will begin production at Bowling Green assembly by year’s end, GM said.

Fair Number

1000 is a decent number of cars. The tip of the iceberg, but some lucky owners will be driving within a week. And getting what's that wherever they go.

Dave in your opinion what is the earliest a customer will get their car? Perhaps Saturday or Sunday (I know NJ dealers are closed, but some states have dealers open on Sunday)...

NOW its really OFFICAL!

Thanks Dave for the good news.

Great news for all of the first wave buyers!
I have a vert on order that will arrive months from now but my dealer will call me when his first customer coupe arrives so that I can finally see one in person. I imagine it will not be available for too long before the proud owner takes it home.

Wow...just like Dave said originally, imagine that......

I would think you will start seeing cars hit some dealers by the weekend.

I've got enough built so far to fill 2 full truckloads but not all have been released yet. If they have a full load for me with no other stops it takes 14 hours. That means if a truck left today I could have cars tomorrow, but I wouldn't count on that.

GM is on schedule. They said in February, when I put my deposit down, that the C7 will be at dealers by the end of 3rd QTR.

Steven Irwin is still on the ground ): come on son, get your butt on that truck!

Dave

I would think some dealers should have cars dropped by at least Friday this week.
