SWC arrived today

Like an expectant father. Car arrived on time, was lowered down and pulled into the garage. The "salty" old transport driver said he went all over the car and it was one of the nicest split window coupes he'd seen in his 18 years in the business.
Anyway, got it registered, insured and have some minor things to do along with some general maintenance and that's really about it. It was born on or about May 29th, 1963 and all the parts seem to jive nicely with that date so far. Found an old ice scraper in the glove box along with a 'nastygram' where the car failed the Colorado emissions test many years back....sorta funny... Herb (aka firstgear) sold me one, damn nice SWC... |
Super!!!!!!!!

You dog! It's awsome!!

Oh JOY it's RED. How unique!!!!
Just kidding Frank. Nice looking car. Have a ton of fun with it. |

Congrats Frank, she is a beauty !!!!
|
Sweet!
Very nice Frank, Enjoy your first night together!!

It has gone to a nice home. The car was not for sale when I asked Frank if he was interested, meaning I was not actively selling the car.
I am glad to see it go someplace where it will be driven. I hadn't driven the car for several years and had told Sharon that I needed to thin the herd. Funny thing is that I thought it was going to be my '03 Z06 and not one of the mid years. Frank enjoy! I will gain my satisfaction from watching over your shoulder from afar on the forum. Even though I had the car, I am jealous of your purchase. It really is a nice car in so many ways. |
Looks great...
Now What:toetap: Which one you gonna drive? |
Looks Great
WOW nice looking. Need more pictures. Who's steering wheel is that?
It fits the look. Have fun and I know you'll drive it. :D |
Looks awesome Frank!!! Drive it over when you're on a "test run"

The extra and original parts Herb provided (this doesn't count the original grill and rocker panels I haven't unwrapped yet). Already got Bob Kunz lined up to restore the WCFB carb. The car has a Carter AFB on and Edlebrock manifold on it now. Car runs so nice I don't know when (or if) I'll put the original items back on.
Mike - count on a visit as soon as I get some things sorted out. Not sure about the make of the steering wheel on the car. I'm gonna put the nice repro red one back on and maybe have the original restored. If Herb wants that wooden one back all he has to do is say the word ! |
I guess if you had to have a midyear .... Yeah, a red on red '63 coupe would be a pretty good choice.

Frank,
What a nice SWC! AND, looks like the caretaker (Herb) did an excellent job of saving all the original stuff. Good luck and enjoy driving her! All the best!! Jim In God We Trust! ps... sidebar note to firstgear, as we spoke, hope we can hook up this Wednesday for lunch. |
Big congrats!

Now What:toetap: Which one you gonna drive? Funny - I had a local town cop verify the VIN so I could get it registered. He came out to the house and went under the dash to do it. Must have told his buddies cuz now I've had two more cops come by the house to look at the car. |
Looks great Frankie, congrats!
