A few interior photos

I haven't seen a lot posted along these lines so I thought I'd share a few photos of the cup holder, the aux. power adapter, the hidden storage compartment and the center console and media slots. I have my iPhone in a couple of the photos as a frame of reference for size. This is an iPhone 5 in an Otterbox case. A few photos at the bottom of the other controls on the dash and a few of the rear compartment, the sub enclosure and the aux. plug for a trickle charger.

Just something new to look at while we wait for our cars to be built.

In case someone didn't know this, the cup holder center divider is removable and it turns the two cup holders in to one long slot perfect for sunglasses.

Wow - great stuff.

I saw somehwere that the rear 12v plug is where the CTEK battery tender gets plugged in. Very well thought out interior.

H101 09-03-2013 04:44 PM

Thanks.... what is the "Off" switch next to hatch open switch?

That is correct. It is for the tender.

As per page 2-18 in the owners manual:

"Intrusion and Inclination
Sensors Disable Switch:

It is recommended that the intrusion
and inclination sensors be
deactivated if pets are left in the
vehicle or the vehicle is being
transported.
With the vehicle turned off, press d
on the right side of the hatch
release button. The indicator light
will come on momentarily, indicating
that these sensors have been
disabled for the next alarm system
arming cycle."

It is the Intrusion and Inclinations Sensor Disable Switch. Section 2-17 in the Owners Manual.

The uplevel (2LT/3LT) security system has a motion sensing feature for "Intrusion Detection". That turns off the sensor - for example, if you leave a pet in the vehicle, you don't want it setting off the alarm if fido moves...LOL.

aerocombatpilot 09-03-2013 05:22 PM

Is this a 2 or 3LT?

RickDI 09-03-2013 05:25 PM

Is that an LED light in the compartment behind the screen?

Hi Paul. Great detailed photos. Thank you for posting!

Can you please give us a little more detail on the Intrusion Detection option that comes with the 2LT/3LT? Thanks in advance.

brian98vette 09-03-2013 05:36 PM

The big question is - do the airbag warning stickers come off easily? :D

Thanks,

Brian

rcallen484 09-03-2013 05:37 PM

Does the 1LT have the same closed loop carpeting? It looks excellent in the photos. Thanks.

B.

I don't know the mechanics of the system but the long and short is that if you leave the car locked say with a window lowered or the roof panel off and someone without the fob were to reach into the cabin area it will sound the alarm.

The photos make me think you must leave the trunk open, or run the wire out through one of the doors/windows, when using the battery maintainer. Is that correct?

The recommended method is going to be to leave the hatch/trunk lid open and resting on the latch.

If you have enough cord, you could leave the window cracked open and run it out through the front.

I like the look of the auto shifter and bezel. I ordere auto and was afraid it may look straight out of the 80's like most cars. This one is decent. Not great but decent.

Two words (maybe one, not sure): AERO GEL  At the very least, you can point to the console and ask passengers, "And you wanna guess what's under there?" "AERO GEL!"

And they are just starting to trickle down the line, only to be parked outside. I'm waiting for early spring 2014 before ordering. Putting miles on the C6 prior to trading. The amazing thing is, I'm really enjoying the C6, no worries trading it anyway. A stone chip, a little touch up, oh well!

Don't leave your pet in your vehicle in Texas. New law states that if temp is 70 degrees or greater and no persons are in vehicle with animal(s), regardless of whether climate control(a/c) is on or windows are down (partially or completely), then vehicle owner can receive a citation.

EpicC7 09-03-2013 08:51 PM

Very nice. These are the best pictures I've seen of the non FAY interior as well. Do you have any additional photos of the non FAY dash you can share? Can you also comment on the touch and feel of the dash? Does it feel plasticy or high quality? Thanks!

I'm relieved because if there's anyone I feel funny about questioning on features it would be you. I really enjoyed your video, BTW.

Yeah, and in N.J. there is a law that your dog has to have a seat belt on. I think the Texas law makes more sense.

JerryU 09-04-2013 11:03 AM

Great picks! Looks like the cup holder will support a water bottle on the passenger side without it falling over when you make a fast left turn! The ones in the C6 were useless. Now just need to devise a way to keep it from falling on me on a shape right hander! Shouldn’t be difficult to rig a left side support that attaches to the bottom and also supports, front and back. When my C7 arrives will have to consider depending on how well the proper size water bottle fits. Better than the extra cup/bottle holder I had to add to the passenger side of the C6.

They fit the 44oz Thirstbuster from Circle K PERFECTLY! That is what I use it for most often so that is all I care about and what should matter to EVERYONE and there should not be any other options......

They all can connect to the radio. It is optimized for two connected media types among the 3 USB ports and the SD card. Additionally, you can just use it for charging when the device is not in use (selected) as a media device.

The exterior on this car is Crystal Red.

I just can't decide if I would like the Khalahari with the Torch red. I was thinking about that as a choice for my own order and just couldn't decide if it worked together. There are times when I look at it and think it would work but then still other times that I think it goes too orange to work well with the Torch. I have not personally seen a TR with Khalahari. The Khalahari looks good with Crystal, Cyber Gray and awesome with the Lime Rock Green.

That's what concerns me. I haven't seen one car from GM yet that had this combination and you would think it would be pretty obvious --- unless it doesn't work.

Sometimes a slight variation in color can make an otherwise expected-to-match combination not match. I, personally, have not seen it in person, so I cannot give a conclusive opinion other than that I would not risk it for my own car. I probably wouldn't go with Adrenaline Red interior either with the TR, because of its slightly-off shade of red. Other than black interior, the only other color that I think would appeal more in person to the masses is the gray.

Well, I'll keep you posted on the Adrenaline Red interior. That's what I have coming. I have seen that color combo in person. That red interior was designed specifically for the Torch Red exterior and was the reveal choice. Of course, gratuitous photos to follow.

I've seen two-piece magnetic cup holder bases. They are pretty cool. Each half uses an adhesive base, one for the compartment, one for the cup/mug. When you put the cup in the holder it kind of clicks into place securely. Really neat.

Maybe get a "driving mug" to go with the driving gloves and glasses? Eh? Eh? (rib jab).

Now you tell me!!! My car is already built. The last eight Corvettes I have owned had been Red, in fact all but one Precision Red and one Victory Red, were Torch Red which is my favorite color for Corvette. I would have loved to order TR and with AR interior in 3LT, but early reports I had read were that the AR interior was a little too dark for TR. That, and the fact there is all that carbon flash trim, got me thinking I should play it safe a go with black on black. Oh well, I am sure I will return to TR when the Hi-Po model comes out in a year or two.

Didn't know about the cup holder or the back hidden compartments. Thanks.

Wait till mine arrives, you can bet she'll have lot's of photos.
Torch Red, Z51, 2LT Kalahari, Navi, Blk wheels w/red calipers, solid red roof, C/F dash, Mag Ride and performance exhaust. Calling her LoLita :D

That is great! I've put in my order for Torch and Kalahari for a convertible but it's a bit of a leap of faith!

My spec is 3LT so I'm a little more concerned about the dash the red.

do you know if Kalahari seats will be available on the 1lt? I was told they owuld be at carslile would but the chevy website configuration only allows black red and grey?

It should be great looking. I started with 3LT then on the advice of my dealer along with looking at photos I switched to 2LT. One, the black top of the dash should help the total match with other trim like the black wheels (side view like my avatar). 2nd, big savings to apply to other things like under hood Stingray pad .

You have to go to 2LT for Kalahari and 3LT for the Brownstone.
The Kalahari was one of the major factors that pushed me to order the 2LT myself.
