I agree I like the round tailights and the classic look of the 2013 GS thats why I got one too

Kingspoke 08-23-2013 11:46 PM

I guess I just was not cut out to be a C7 guy. I really like the front clip, minus the fangs and the grill retainer. I don't really care for the hood vents but I could live with it.

The C6 looks more dated, but the style flows front to back, and still looks appealing. The glass hatch of the C6 would have been a great base for which to design the C7 hatch, with all the advances in transitional tinting (photo chromic), and still over great visibility.

The C6 back end still looks good! Enuff said!

Well, the new base C7 did pretty good on the DynoJet when Edmunds dyno'd it.

Made 411 RWHP

The comparable base C6 / LS3 with the M6 transmission makes right at 385 RWHP, so that's an increase of 26 RWHP over the C6.

Did they say what the tq was?

I see it now 407 @ 5k, not bad.

A few more vents and it may be able to outrun my 427!:D

And I also have to be honest and say the rear end has grown on me. :)

I like the C6 rear bumper.. But the new C7 does make it look a little dated now. :hide:

:iagree:

I like the headlights on the C7 ...but that's about it.

Interesting photo tough to judge without seeing the C7 in person.

Nice pics Rhett! You working the weekend of 14th and 15th(Vettes and Jets) I'm thinking about coming down.

fyreline 08-24-2013 08:58 AM

C7 rear end is still fugly. I like your C6 .

EuroRod 08-24-2013 09:06 AM

Seeing the C7 next to the C6 makes the older car really look dated, I'm sorry to say!

As it should!! It's the newer version so it better do better on the DYNO.Question is not power,it's the packaging, and the packaging needs a whole bunch of cosmetic surgery!

if they put 800HP in the Pontiac Aztec..it would look like a Pontiac Aztec...!

Yes the hate was just the same from C5 owners when the C6 came out. Screamed about the loss of the flip-up headlights. Actually called it a C5.5. I just read a review of the C7 and if I didn't already own a C6 that is only 1.5 years old I would be on the list to get one of these. All I can say is, WOW. I wonder how long it will be before the aftermarket suppliers will be offering rear end kits for C6, and C5, owners to "update" their looks. They probably also will be offering retrograde kits for the C7 owners who don't like the new taillights.

The C7 looks much better in red. Not crazy about the back quarter window.

Bones_TX 08-24-2013 10:09 AM

I grown to accept a little more about the C7. I could live with the look from the back of the doors forward. Minus the nerf made steering wheel and the ugly chrome piece on the front end. However the from the back of the doors back it just not a vette.

:iagree: Thanks to OP and Robvet for posting. Getting them together really helps. Still have mixed feelings on the C7 but I am sure that it will grow on me. I was one of those that really was not a fan of the C6 when it came out and it grew on me as time went by, so I suppose that will happen again.

A quick question to the OP. Do you consider yourself lucky or unlucky that you appear to be parked by the outhouse. :D:D

I can see that strip being one of the first things people change
