Dash speakers & door speakers in 88?
 

Got an 88 'Vette and noticing that there is what appears to cut-outs in dash with cloth on top....but no sound coming from the areas and it appears that the dash has to be removed to check. The speakers in the doors and rear are Bose....I'm confused because I thought the Bose systems didn't have dash speakers...:confused2:

Could someone shed some light on this? Thanks!

There are no speakers in the dash if you have the BOSE system. You have the door and rear speakers , thats's it.

I have a Delco radio. I have speakers in the dash. There are none in the doors.

I'm starting to think that the dash was replaced in my '88....the is because I have the Bose system but I seem to have dash cut-outs for speakers...even though no sound!

That is the way it was made from the factory. If it came with the Bose system you have the speakers in the doors and the rear cargo area. If it came without the Bose system the speakers were in the dash where you speak of and in the rear cargo area. With either of the systems there are still the cut outs in the dash with the speaker covers.
