What other ride?

calvins 08-03-2013 04:19 PM

Not for me. Those things just always struck me as bragging. <shrug>

:iagree:

All of my vehicles get de-badged, so this would be counterproductive for me.

I'd just as soon apply bumper stickers. :ack:

You mean as opposed to the tasteful bragging pictures that the ballers put up on here?

:hide:

Then drive the corvette? This is a good plate for those who drive their car once every 3 months and always bring " I have a Corvette in the garage" during conversations.

We Vette owners get a bad rap as it is with the stereotyping and everything.Advertising is just feeding into that.

coia96vette 08-03-2013 07:49 PM

I have one of those on my work truck. Best of both worlds. Nice SLT 4x4 for work and my vette for after and trips. Won't drive the vette in the winters up here.

:iagree:
I'd rather use it to frame a picture of my Vette & hang it on the garage wall.

C5Wolfe 08-03-2013 08:18 PM

I'd rather be driving my YARIS! I'm serious too...

Evil-Twin 08-03-2013 08:27 PM

Everyone is a judge LOL...
here comes da Judge. :smash:

Scuba Ghost 08-03-2013 08:46 PM

Have one on my Jetta. It's the truth.

s'noJob 08-04-2013 12:22 AM

I'd buy one - and then put it on the 'Vette! I like to mess with people's heads.

No thanks, pass.

Vetteman Jack 08-04-2013 12:55 AM

Honestly, I've never thought about putting either of those things on any of my cars.

Zr-1Mike00 08-04-2013 12:59 AM

This is what I have on the front of my Caddy. "Corvette Mike" seems fitting  I think that is enough though.

(Before you say it... I know the blue fog lights need to be removed. Been spending too much time on the Vette to get them off)

No, the plate frame is from the dealership "Corvette Mike New England" lol My father has purchased a few cars from him. Figured it was fitting to add.

JW Motorsports 08-04-2013 08:16 AM

The sticker would be my choice. Might have to look into grabbing one

C7LOU 08-04-2013 10:19 AM

I have that frame on the wall on my garage. I had it on my old Winter beater on 2003 when I bought my Z. That car is long gone and now I have a 2013 CTS coupe to go with the Vette. I won't be putting that frame on it!

RetiredSFC 97 08-04-2013 12:19 PM

My son bought me one for Christmas a couple years ago. I put it on my STS, what's more important, worrying about what license plate frame you have on a car, or accepting a gift from someone who wants to give you a present with your vette in mind?

I love this forum, it gives everyone the chance to act like 10 again.

I've thought about it, just never felt comfortable doing it. That's why I posed the question.

I used to drive an '03 Mustang GT as my daily driver and I put one of those on it to mess with the Ford boys. :yesnod:

Jack 2003 08-04-2013 08:41 PM

I have one on my Honda VAN....

chasboy 08-05-2013 12:46 AM

I was think of going the opposite:

"the Other Car"

JaxEagle 08-05-2013 09:14 AM

I like the idea of the frame but I agree that it would come across to some people as arrogant. Now, a simple Corvette word logo or crossflags on your other vehicle may be a good compromise.

Not for me, but I am sure some will buy/install it.

envyz06 08-05-2013 11:19 AM

I have thought about getting one, just havent really got around to buying one.

PryOpenUr3rdEye 08-05-2013 11:57 AM

Cheese

jdot 08-05-2013 05:21 PM

I'd rather be driving a newer Vette than put one of these on my truck.

I'd have the badges pulled off mine if they weren't posted into the car.

2TONE82 03-13-2018 09:30 AM

I've had one on the back of my DD forever...people that know me know I'm a Corvette guy so not bragging, it is what is is.

New Corvettes may be considered "status" but old Corvettes are a labor of love that I'll pass on to the grandkids...but I'm not dead yet!https://cimg6.ibsrv.net/gimg/www.cor...e1639cfd29.jpg
