Question: What do you see in your C6?

I don't know when in my ownership of my 08 C6, but I was sitting in it one day when I was struck by something I never noticed before. Heretofore I always thought the C6 was a very rounded aerodynamic sports car uniquely different than any other generation. However, while sitting in it, I saw that the front fenders were very reminiscent of the C3s. Just like the C3s, my car's front fenders arch up and have a definite sharp crease. This put an entirely different look to the car in my mind. What does your C6 remind you of?

I noticed this when I first sat in a C6 at Birthday Bash in 2004.

I see a big hole that has been eating a lot of my money.

It is a joy to drive. I just am not getting the return which I expected even at 30MPG.

^ Either, All previous Corvettes, late model front engine Ferraris , or a curvaceous woman. Depends on whether I'm contemplating before during or after Happy Hour ..

when im seated in mine i can't help but notice all the inconsiderate oblivious drivers that sit in the left lane in their toyota corollas going 40mph on the highway.

Really, my former C2 fenders. No kidding.

R&L's C6 07-29-2013 07:12 PM

Yep, I see the resemblance of the C3 too. It's what drew me to the C6.

Rich Mickol 07-29-2013 07:15 PM

A lifestyle that comes with owning a Corvette. The shows, the clubs, the events.

WICKEDFRC 07-29-2013 07:20 PM

When I sit in my new 2013 C6 Z06, I see how fortunate I am to do so. Hard work and frugal spending allowed for this.....and when I sit in it, I see that all my hard work has paid off.

Even though it is "just a car," it is a dream come true that finally, after so many years, I was capable of buying a brand new car (A nice one too!).

LMB-Z 07-29-2013 07:25 PM

I see how much money I put into it. Just think how many times I am going to have to wash and wax it to keep it clean, just so it can sit it the garage and get dusty again.

I agree. The C6 fender/hood is reminiscent of the C2 style.

Just like the C5 fender/hood is reminiscent of the C1 style.

I see a money pit making my wallet small.

94 Red Vette 07-29-2013 07:30 PM

I see so many generations.....
Right behind the doors -C2
The rear hatch - C2
Front fenders - C3
The tail lights - first generation C4
Tail pipes - C5 (sort of)
Excitement....it all started with the C1 ...and ran for 60 years !!!!!

THE C6 will be heralded by many to be the best CORVETTE ever.

94 Red Vette 07-29-2013 07:33 PM

If you see the C6 as a money pit....you haven't owned enough boats!

Agree. The styling of the C4 and C5 was barely on my radar. I consider them to be the "lost years".

The C6 (especially the wide-body) re-ignited the childhood excitement I had for the C3. I love seeing those big fenders while sitting in the cockpit.

:iagree:Or enough airplanes. As they say, "If it flies or floats rent it!"

Owning a C6, on the other hand is monster bang for the buck!

Oh, and I see a lot of the C3 in the 6 also. In my opinion the C3 was the last desirable corvette until the C6 came along.:hide:

Jimmy52 07-29-2013 07:58 PM

I see a" head turning" car every time I get in it & drive!!
as well as compliments on it!!:D

Mad*Max 07-29-2013 08:01 PM

it's the best money I have spent - it is an amazing car, I have made new friends because of this car and I don't mind all the compliments I get (especially from the females)

Rusler John 07-29-2013 09:26 PM

Having owned C-1s and C-2s, in the past, I definitely see the resemblance of my C-2s. The rear fender rise and the front fender slope really reminds me of that, when I'm sitting in my C-6. Of course, that's where it ends. The C-6 is eons ahead of the older ones. And, I like that, a lot. I'm very lucky to own this car after all these years without. I love driving it and maintaining it. It's a joy to own.

And the idiots who make righthand turns directly into the far left lane, long before they are up to speed.

http://i7.photobucket.com/albums/y25...ps306e232a.jpg I see a badass looking ride that with the slightest touch of my right foot turns into a wild beast every time I ask it too.. and I see a thing of beauty!! Yes,I agree the fender bulges remind me of the c3 Generation..the C6 is my favorite style along with the C3 and the C4,yes,I said C4.I love that body style too.:D

Me2!! I always liked the "Coke Bottle" C3 design the best. The C6 is to me an updated version, just as sexy, just a little smoother.

...and I do so love the shape....

What I see in the C6 is 10 years of technological advancements over the 2000 C5 we are selling. Power, handling, steering, braking, you name it, is improved over the C5. Don't get me wrong, I loved that C5 and still do. I went to the shop that is selling our car today and seeing it sitting there & not in my garage was painful.

What I wish I saw in the C6 was better gas mileage! It is hard going from 29-32 mpg down to 22-24. But it is 80 hp more than the LS1 and you can feel every one of them when you want to pass someone.

What I feel with our C6 is blessed that my wife & I can own and drive such a world-class automobile now that we are retired.

Sunnyvale Dave 07-29-2013 09:56 PM

I see my mom because I used part of my inheritance to buy the car.

vet55 07-29-2013 10:06 PM

Yep. Got it home and the first thing
I noticed was the fenders, as I sat
inside. Immediately pictured my
'77. Big ole' bat wings.

Don't even notice 'em now!

I agree that the first time I ever got in a C6 for a test drive, it was the front fender bulges that really caught my attention. For this guy's eyes, it continues to be a joy to look at from every angle.

How unfortunate that several people wrote to say their corvette was a money pit; a vehicle that doesn't offer good value to cost ratio. Mine would be gone, and I wouldn't be hanging out on this forum if I felt that way. For me, the value to cost is excellent. Other than the purchase, it's only cost a few minor things, like wheel balance and alignment.

.

It reminds me of all the hard years of work, saving, and a bit of luck I have done throughout my life to realize my lifelong dream of owning and being part of Corvette. :D

When I look at my corvette, I see...YELLOW!

ProfessorDeath 07-30-2013 02:15 AM

I see wide-open roads with limitless possibility and a beautiful girl next to me. Whether my 8 year old or my girlfriend, life is good.

Stavesacre21 07-30-2013 02:56 AM

I see a professionally redone C5 with a bigger, more powerful engine and an amazing (NPP) exhaust. While it does have sharper lines and a tighter stance, I can't help but say that I really do still see a C5 in it. Just...better in most every way.

MikeyTX 07-30-2013 06:10 AM

Question: What do you see in your C6?

A couple of dead bugs at the base of the windshield ................:willy::rofl:
