I'd find out whether the engine is definitely NOM or not before becoming discouraged. You should be able to tell if the car likely had side pipes from the factory by closely inspecting the rear panel, look for evidence of slots being covered or filled in? It looks like a fairly well optioned car, worth having a look before dismissing.

Get the VIN too. I was able to contact old owners using the registry and walked away from a few with what they told me.
Keep in mind shipping costs because coast to coast is not cheap. Also pictures hide so many paint flaws you need to see it in person or pay someone too. I had a Forum member look at a car for me and said no way. Looked great in the pictures. |

Good find. The 3956618 is good for a '69 block, and I do not believe they were made after '69. My bet would be that it is the original block, still confirm.

Customs 6% (minimum) as I need to ship through Holland to Germany. I see I have my old Santa Rosa location in the profile. Changed it, as I now permanently am back in Munich. The seller does not know where the trim tag is. Oh well.... I have some more or less good undercarriage pics which I will post tomorrow. Looks ok IMO, but then again, what do I know :willy: |

Hi dxbc,
It's the small things that need to be checked and really determine just what a car is. For instance the engine has an aluminum intake manifold (LT-! ?) on it, that raises the carb and air cleaner enough so the 69 sb hood won't fit. Is that why the bb hood is there. This may be just fine with some buyers, but should be understood while the cash is still in the buyer's pocket. Regards, Alan |

Tell them what to look for as they are usual not Corvette Specialists. But they make a lot of detailed pics showing all areas. :eek: Only thing what makes me wonder, in the link above the price was 36k and now 21k, what happens ? |

Bought my 69 from FL and rust is absolutely minimal. Nothing at all like cars I have seen from say the houston area. I now live in Savannah, GA close to the coast and no problems with rusting here either.

I'm not a collector and I don't buy a car to collect it. I buy it to drive it and take to shows for other people to be able to admire a piece of American history.
This car looks beautiful to me and I would be proud to have it. It doesn't mean a hill of beans to me if it is not, oooooue, TOTALLY CORRECT. Hell for 19,000 I might get it. 4 speed, pipes, clean engine, nice interior, good undercarriage. The average guy is gonna drool when he sees this. Now, the snooty collector, well, that's a different story. You want a very nice Vette. This is a very nice Vette. |
