Wheels On a budget
 

What are my options for a better looking wheel without spending over 1k?
I would prefer to be no more than $800. Here's what I have now. A lot of damage from prior owner.

Best bet will be a used set from Craig's list or a forum member. This will be the only way to get a reasonable price on a good set of wheels. If you like the Z06 style, complete sets go for around 600-800. Then there's the aftermarkets for a variety of prices. Even cheaper, you can replace your stock ones with with the same ones. Complete sets go for 300-400 tops.

I'd go factory z06 wheels in your case, like said above they go for around $600-$800. I'm actually in the market for some factory z06 wheels myself if I decide to not buy TSW Nurburgrings.

If you want to keep the stock look you can have your existing wheels repaired and coated the factory color. Check with Wheel Repair Solutions in Carrollton, they do good work.

I have the same problem, I guess they can't fix that?

Does anyone have a guess at what the repair cost would be? That first one looks just like mine after one trip through the car wash.

My wife "curbed" one of the wheels on her Jag. I'm sure prices may vary by region, but I got hers re-done for $125.

TSW Nurburgrings would be a good choice but would be at the top (if not a little more) of your price range. There are plenty of reproduction wheels out there that would look good, including the new Cup wheels. I saw that style wheel at Bloomington and it looks very good.

Or just get the stock wheels refinished.

I know a friend who works on high end cars and these guys just did a BMW rim for $125 and it had pretty bad curb rash. I also know most high end dealers us these guys also.

Check in C5 Parts or look on e-bay for a nice set of wheels.

OEWheels (check their website or eBay). They have knock off wheels that are cheap.

People knock them all the time but I had a set on my Mustang and had no problems. I got a set for roughly 1000, with brand new tires, mounted and balanced. I literally jacked the car up, bolted them on, and that was it. I then sold the factory rims for 500 so the new wheels and tires cost me 500 bucks. And the fit and finish was nicer than the factory Ford rims.

The damage on those wheels isn't all that bad. A good wheel repair shop will bring those back to like new. And, if they also do powder coating, you could have them redone in a color that may complement your C5 better, probably for less than $200 per wheel. :flag:

I picked up a set of C6 wheels for $200 on Craigslist and had them powedercoated matte black for another $400. Couldn't be happier :thumbs:

Keep an eye out on the e-bay and craigs list listings too. also check what fellow members have to offer on here too.
I just got a set of four C6 Z06 GM (not repros) for $390 plus shipping. Deals do come about if you keep track.

The damage on those wheels isn't all that bad. You can get them repaired and you shouldn't have any trouble finding someone to do it. But if you get an aftermarket wheel in your price range, be sure to check the weight. A little weight added to your tire/wheel combination can make a noticeable difference in ride and acceleration.
