Have to stay safe and go CRM with black interior

Hi,
Ordering CRM, torn between Black or Kalahari interior. Kalahari looks tan in some pictures and much darker in others. Any suggestions?

What color wheels do you plan on getting? I think it makes a big difference on interior color choice, especially with CRM.

If you plan on getting black wheels and black carbon fiber roof the Kalahari interior may not go as well with the car. Black would be the better choice. However, as someone already mentioned black is too conservative and doesn't show enough contrast with the remaining interior.

If on the other hand you don't get black wheels and roof the Kalahari looks better in my opinion.

Tough decisions.....

My CRM will have the Kalahari interior.
I actually didnt order the 3LT Kalahari because I dont want a light dash, I am afraid it will reflect on the windshield.
The CRMS with Kalahari look great to me
I saw the Kalahari at Bowling Green and I really liked the color.

Just me, but I think the 2LT Kalahari looks very nice with the CRM exterior paint.

Just the right mix of tan and black ... I don't much care for the tan on the dash of the 3LT

2LT

I agree but that picture you are showing is actually a 1LT interior.

My preference would be a 2LT over a 3LT with Kalahari since I also don't like a light colored dash. The 2LT seems to have the right mix of Black and Kalahari for my taste.

Turbo6TA 07-06-2013 03:02 PM

I don't think the Kalahari is available in the 1LT

Not sure if it is or not but that pic is definitely not a 2LT interior for the C7 coupe. Maybe it's a convertible pic or a marketing pic.

Turbo6TA 07-06-2013 03:20 PM

Well, I checked the order guide ... Kalahari is only available on the 2LT and 3LT.

and I know the 3LT Kalahari looks like this:

Hmmm....very interesting. I thought the 2LT had the additional color on the doors (behind the handles), the passenger side between the air vents, and the outline around the dash as in the link below. Not sure why Kalahari seems to be different in the pics you showed.

What you are describing is the 3LT red & gray. 2LT is only seats, console & armrests. Kalahari & Brownstone are the only ones with full dash (and of course Black) That is what convinced me to pay the extra for 3LT Kalahari.

Thanks for clearing that up.

I ordered my CRM with 2LT black and nav.

Durnberg 07-06-2013 04:56 PM

Why is Crystal Red referred to as CRM? I thought is was Crystal Red Tintcoat and what's a Tintcoat besides $995 in cost? Is there a difference between Tintcoat and metallic or regular paint in the application of the car's paint? Just wondering.

fishingdan 07-06-2013 05:02 PM

Definitely the kalahari IMO.

I started this thread, decided on black....but after that picture I'm back to Kalahari

That is a bitching look for the interior and would go great with the CRM. Decisions decisions... :leaving:

I agree

Saw a black/beige interior on a 3LZ ZR1 and I thought the beige passenger air bag cover looked ridiculous

I think CRM with painted alum wheels and light grey interior would look real nice.

.......... and for an added bonus you will not see too many of them

Tintcoat is a metallic paint with tinting in the what would normally be clearcoat for regular metallic paint. This makes the metallic paint appear richer. You are correct in that people should be referring to it as CRT, rather than CRM.

Michael

Turbo6TA 07-06-2013 09:15 PM

My mistake ... Calling Crystal Red Tintcoat "CRM" is not correct.

It is NOT Crystal Red Metallic.

It is a better paint that a standard metallic, and that's why it costs damned near a thousand bucks as an option!

From now of forward, it should be "CRT" ... Crystal Red Tintcoat

Agree ? ? ?
