Weatherstripping sticking to my door glass??
My weatherstrip is about three years old and has held up pretty good but now little pieces are tearing off and sticking to the door glass. Is this from cheap weatherstrip? I have used silicone to help but doesn't really make a difference.

use baby powder on the rubber, they also make a dry lube that does the same thing

Is that normal though?? It's a good idea but don't think you should have to do that. Maybe it's the quality of the rubber but in the mean time I will do that. Thanks.

Coat all your weatherstrips, your interior parts, even tires! with a polymer protectant like Meguiar's protectant for plastics or Nu-Vinyl. It goes on dry, doesn't peel or yellow, blocks UV rays (one of the 'killers' for plastic surfaces which regularly see sunshine), and dries quickly to a nice satin shine. Absolutely the best "appearance maintenance" product I've found----EVER.
It's great on weatherstips, as it seals the surface and helps to prevent degradation of 'plastic' products. |
OK great!
