Treasure found is often less than treasure sought.

If it helps, a friend of mine sold his original drivetrain 71 LT-1 Coupe (Green/Green) here on the Forum last year for around 22K (?). Brand new Al Knoch interior, nice frame, original engine, trans, rear.
I know "some" may not like the color combo and others do, but that is 1/2 what your seller is asking for a car almost as nice.

Just a thought, good luck.

As a matter of fact I know of an almost identical 71 LT-1 for sale in Jersey, or at least it was a few months ago. About the same price. I do think the engine was decked though.

I did not see his ad anymore, but I did check South Jersey CL (where he lives) and saw a couple 71 LT-1's for under 24k. One looked interesting....A darker orange with saddle interior. It looked very original with SMOG still intact.

What type of issues can one expect with a decked block?

None, but the numbers are removed during the rebuild.

The VIN and code on on the passenger side and when the deck the block the numbers get erased.

Wow I skimmed around craigslist at random anf found several 1971 corvettes. There is this green one owner roadster that is gorgeous. Small block. I imagine there are more lt1 and 454 out there. I just have to find them. Is there a way to do a one time nationwide search instead of going city by city?

Well this one got my interest because it is so close to me. So I looked at the ad and VIDEO closely.

How do you like the pricing?

and doesn't that trim tag say it is a Nevada silver car?

That price for a RESALE RED? Am I :crazy2: for thinking that is nuts??????? Another learning exercise. Why not say in the video it is a repainted color change red car? What else is hiding?

What do you think of the car? How do you like the pricing? From your tone you seem to think is high.

What is trim 400? How do you like the interior? How do you like the options? How does the engine bay look? Anything missing?

Yes, 905 is Nevada Silver. You seem unsure. Does it not look like it clearly reads 905?

Have you checked other '71 convertible prices? How do they stack up? How about this one?
