I attended the 'reveal' at the museum on Friday and the way I understand it the 500 'premier' cars will be built before current customer orders. Is that correct? That is probably why the TPW's that were initially assigned have been pulled?

Thats stupid if true. You have so many orders, and your going to delay orders to make a car that are essentially unsold.....really...

Thanks for doing this. When you get a chance on Monday - look up RCRGBX.....last I checked it was at 1102.

Any estimate when a order sitting on 1100 on 1 July 2013 will be delivered ?? I've heard anytime between Labor Day and Thanksgiving. Also I hope my dealer has a good idea on how to get the damn thing from his lot to my heated garage on summer tires in the dead of winter.

BPHORSEGUY 06-30-2013 10:56 PM

From what I and others saw at the plant, wrapped cars being loaded on haulers, they are shipping!

Try not to get your dress up over your head.

First, it will probably take all of 2-3 days to produce the 500 cars. Not much of a delay.

Second, Chevrolet is going to do a QC hold on probably the first 900 cars for two-three weeks or so, meaning the 500 cars won't really delay any customer orders since they will all be held anyway. By the end of that time, production should have ramped up significantly.

Third, I personally like the idea of the factory working the production bugs out on those 500 identical cars, so that when yours and mine are produced, there is far less likelihood of getting a car that has issues.

Finally, having the ability to see a new Stingray in person on a dealer's showroom floor will be a nice opportunity for most of us to look over the features for ourselves. Many of us have still not seen one, aside from in photos.

BTW, I hope you enjoy yours as much as I'm going to enjoy mine. See you on the road!

Yes they are shipping loads of C7s with the new white shipping covers on them. I passed a load on I65. But they going to GM, they are not building customer ordered cars yet. So far all of the several hundred C7s built are for display or CTF (captured test fleet).

Correct, also 1100.

There is no way to answer your other question as your dealer has control over order priority. In theory, you could sit at 1100 forever if the dealer prioritized other orders ahead of yours.

I was told that I was #3 out of an allocation of 19 coupes and 6 convertibles. Still not sure what this means, but I'm really not expecting to hear or see anything before the end of September.

Labor Day to Thanksgiving is the "dead of winter"? LOL. Average daily high temps in St Louis (the location in your profile)...

It's also been colder than a well-digger's a$$ in November. We had snow the week before Thanksgiving last year, a treat you Texans are smart enough to avoid. If it really is that late, I'll be disappointed. I'm hoping for late-Sept., thru October to get some driving time in.

Sorry about all the posts and Qs, but should any of us ask you again about our orders which are currently at 1100, so we know when they progress to the point of being included on your list?

Or will you automatically post those that have advanced to 3300?

Great question.

Anyone who is at 1100 has at least two weeks to wait at a minimum until they would move. The best way is to use the order tracking website at Chevrolet.com: http://www.chevrolet.com/order-tracking.html

When you get the "queued for production" status, then post a request and I will add you my list

Interesting

Here we are at July 2nd, and not a SINGLE order on the list has hit 3400, essentially, production for consumers HAS NOT BEGUN. Something is delaying the start of production unfortunately... Many of these orders are from the top dealers in the country and from the 1st consensus...

Why oh why can't someone tell us what is happening... I thank GM'er for doing this for us, if only someone at the plant would communicate real information, but that won't happen I am afraid

dmardigian 07-02-2013 12:50 PM

I don't know if this has anything to do with what is going on with your orders or not, but we all know there is going to be a quality hold on the first cars off the line. GM may be trying to manage that scenario so sold orders, and those going to the large Corvette dealers, are not stuck in quality hold, and cars going to smaller dealers and stock orders wind up getting shipped first. I have seen a few TPW's on orders I have looked up, just not any on our list.

At this point it may be to your benefit not to be one of the first batch off the line, because it may take longer to get your car than a later build.

Production on the all new Silverado started about a month ago, and the first 3000 trucks off the line were all held for a quality check, and took weeks longer to arrive then those built after the first 3000.

I am looking with anticipation everyday I look these orders up hoping some TPW's will pop up for you guys.

BPhillyc8 07-02-2013 01:03 PM

Bowling Green should be on down time for the two week summer break.

Sometime around the present the people with CTF units should be finalizing their reports to assess if any last minute adjustments are needed. Last minute even though regular production is a month away.

I still have not seen of start of regular production date.

Durnberg 07-02-2013 01:32 PM

I was at the dealership yesterday and my salesman gave me not only my order status but that of all the C7s in their system. I may end up waiting a little longer for my car than if I had shopped around but I am glad that I purchased there. They have always been up front with me and provided me with any information they have and they wouldn't accept my attempt to bribe them :nono: always a good sign. I did have to tell the salesman about the Luggage Edition they are getting but, unlike me, he has life outside of waiting for a new car. I'll check back with either dealer or in the forum sometime in mid October because I don't expect any movement until then. FYI, that's just a short 9,056,430 seconds from now. When I first placed order on May 27th it was 12,184,090 seconds to October 15th. I like seconds because I can actually see them pass :) and I have absolutely no idea what a million looks like so one million seconds could be like tomorrow but probably isn't. I am very excited that some of you may see your C7s in Aug/Sept and I look forward to pictures, stories, etc about your new car!

Daily Order status update

Listen Guys I do not know who "GMer" is but he is doing all of us a great Service.....He is dealing with all the information he has at his disposal...but there is a lag in time between him the Plant and Distribution..
The plant is closed for this week only and they are right on SCHEDULE minus maybe 3 Weeks, from when they intended to start Retail Production..
They have produced all the captured Fleet Vettes and they are in the hands of the intended......Most of the kinks have been worked out and they are nearing the time of Startup....
They are hoping to start up production at almost full speed so they must make sure all there Suppliers are on line....Harvey

Hot Rod Todd 07-02-2013 02:32 PM

I too appreciate the service provided by GMer.

It will be interesting to see when the 500 "Premier edition" models are built. Some think right away to make it easy since it would be all the same. It may depend on constraints, they would have to have a bunch of the accessory pieces available to make those first. Either way, I'm sure we will start seeing some TPW's showing up soon.

dmardigian 07-02-2013 03:03 PM

I did some checking and we were given the wrong oder. This should be the correct one: RDFNPD

Thanks again

I think it was mentioned a while back that those June and July TWP's that the chat line had given out were inaccurate. More recently the earliest TWP's seen were 8/12 and 8/19 but who knows?

We were in the plant Thursday. At that time they were building batches of 30 cars, then a big gap in the line, then another 30, then another big gap, then a batch of 61 cars. All colors, half and half Z51 and base, a few Z51 without NPP, one on the line with the "dealer installed" chrome torq wheels (must have been a Premier Edition), and 2 export models. Very few exposed CF roofs. All were said to be CTF cars, no customer orders yet.

In order to move beyond 1100 several things need to happen:

1. Your dealer needs to be given an allocation during a consensus cycle.
2. Your dealer needs to prioritize your order to be one of the ones picked up during the weekly order cycle. For example, if your dealer receives 2 allocations during consensus, your order would need to be priority 1 or 2 of the orders he has in his system for your order to be picked up.
3. You order must not have any constrained (limited/no availability) options, unless your dealer was allocated those particular options.
4. The order needs to be picked up by GM after the weekly order cycle.

Hope this helps.

1. While I do work for GM, I have no connection to the plant, museum, or customer service line. You may get different information from them. I don't know if it's better, or worse, than my info. :crazy2:
2. My information is no different than what you can get from your dealer. I'm doing this just as a service to you. Your dealer is who you are purchasing from, they are there to help you. :yesnod:
2. I am doing this on the side, as a hobby, as a fellow Corvette owner and enthusiast. I just want to make sure you have the best purchasing experience possible. This is not part of my official duties for the company, so if I miss a day or two not giving an update, go easy on me. :D
3. Just as an FYI, this is the internet. By posting your order number here, any Chevrolet dealer has access to it, and in most cases with sold orders, it has your name, address, and phone number tied to it. Not saying any dealer would do anything with it, but I do want to make you aware. :hide:
4. I will update post 2 of this thread every day I can, so you can always go to one place to see where your order is.
5. If at any time you would like to be removed from the list, just PM me, and I will take you off. :leaving:
6. If you would like to get the status of your order, feel free to post your order number in the thread, and I will update the current status.
7. If you would also like to be added to the daily update list, please post that request with your order number. :woohoo:
8. At this time I am only adding to the daily update list those who are at event code 3000 and higher. The next round of orders going in will not be until mid July, so if you are not at 3000 yet, you won't be moving for a while. I will revisit lower event codes at that time. There is going to be a limit to how many orders I can track this way, and still have time to drive my own Corvette!
9. Here are the list of event codes again for easy reference:
Code Description
1000 Order On Hold at Dealership
1100 Order Placed at Dealership
2000 Order Accepted by Chevrolet
2050 Order Changed
2500 Order Preferenced (or "Picked Up" or "Imaged")
3000 Order Accepted by Production Control
3100 Order Available to be Sequenced
3300 Order Scheduled for Production
3400 Order Broadcast (Internal Plant Order Produced)
3800 Vehicle Produced
4000 Vehicle Available to Ship
4B00 Bayed
4150 Vehicle Invoiced
4200 Vehicle Shipped
4300 Intermediate Delivery
4800 Rail Ramp Unload
5000 Vehicle at Dealer

You can always look up your status on the official Chevrolet Order Status Page here:
http://www.chevrolet.com/order-tracking.html

Thanks GM'er. Marshall

What's your order number? If you posted it before, you must not have asked to be added to the list, and I'm not searching back through 8 pages of posts to find it. :toetap:

Daily Order Status Update

Please put me on your list
Order # RBJM7P
Thank you for any info you get.

My thanks for doing this. We just placed our order earlier in the week, but I would like to be put on your list, if still possible. We still own a 1976 Coupe, just sold our 94 coupe, getting ready for a new baby, will have two Stingray's in the garage.

Our order number is RDFH9Z, LA.

Again our profound thanks for doing this for other Corvette owners.

what does this mean?

Does anyone know what "queued for production" means?
Thanks

It means your order was picked up by GM for production and its status code could be between 3000 and 3400.

Hi GMer, thanks for the time to assist us anxious buyers. I got to drive one of the CTF cars and LOVE the rev match feature! Small back window needs getting used to but the back up camera helps. My order, RCDG8M, is queued for production, do you have any other info on status? I own a 2009 coupe and a Z06 fully caged and modified track car. My order is a Z51 I plan to prep for track use. Glad to see GM back on profitable status, the new Malibu totally a winner, good work GM!!! Hope you have a lot of GM stock.

dcbingaman 07-07-2013 01:45 PM

V8 Juice - Soooo.....you DROVE a CTF.......how sweet is it ? Can you compare it to your C6's ??

Yes, at VIR no less! As compared to my C6 the interior seems smaller and tighter but that is an impression, I haven't checked the stats. The steering wheel is a smaller diameter but I didn't notice any real difference in the wheel while driving; the IP is a feast for your imagination as the configuration seems unlimited. Info pops up in center of IP such as telephone activity. Interior reflects quality, I drove a 612 Scag for 10 days last year and the C7 matches it for luxury feel. As mentioned in my prior post, the rear hatch window is much smaller as the side is taken up with the new pillars. I was told the back up camera became standard rather than an option to assist backing up with small window. The view forward is different from C6 due to different shape of hood and fenders. I didn't play with the NAV or other features on the screen but it looks like the Cadillac CUE - -hope it is improved over Cadillac's. I didn't run it hard but some brief runs and shifts puts the handling and response way ahead of standard C6. I eagerly await receiving my 4th NCM delivery!!

GM'er

Do you expect movement on any of the 3000 codes this week, or TPWs showing up?

dcbingaman 07-07-2013 08:49 PM

Outstanding - thanks Juice. I can't wait to get my rear in one soon.
