I think the better question would be, which do YOU like better?

I'm not a convertible lover, but the C7 convertible looks ten times better than the coupe.

:iagree: I like them both for different reasons. the coupe is striking with its rear hatch, windows, etc. but the convertible offers that one thing: open air+looks good. how can you go wrong? :yesnod:

I had both in C4/C5's!

I used to think Vert was the only way to go but over the years, I've changed the thinking!

Now,I only like the look of the Vert when the top is down!

I've ordered Cpe!:thumbs::thumbs:

No disrespect to the convert crowd, but I've never been a Corvette convertible fan. They are probably the best looking convertible in the world with the top down, but top up, the roof looks like a wart to me. Get the coupe.

runutzzzzz 06-24-2013 08:30 AM

Both? LOL I ordered one of each, when the convertible comes out I'm going to sell the coupe.

Get the convertible. No vents on the rear fenders. Overall the convertible looks much better than the coupe. And the top won't creak on the convertible.

Want the exotic look, go for the coupe. Want the more conservative look, go for the convertible.

Coupe for me!

Both my C6's have been convertibles, but the coupe is what makes the C7 outstanding in appearance, thus I have a coupe coming this time. If I were doing another convertible I would find a left over 13 and save bunches of money.

:iagree: I have owned 3 C6 convertibles and loved them all, but I think the C7 coupe is sharper than the convertible so I'll be ordering a coupe next time.:D

I went back and forth...going with a coupe.

We plan on travelling a lot with it and yes the convertible is nice round town and on the freeway for short rides but 4-5 hours on the freeway at 80 with the top down is a lot.

Yes you can put the top up but its not going to be as quiet and no it does not look nearly as good with the top up.

I'm also a spring/fall driver so I'd spend 2 months driving around with the top up.

If the C7 is as good of a seller as they hope I might do the same. Buy the coupe and see if I want a vert later on after I can drive one and see how it is with the top up.

I think if supply remains constrained you could sell one/buy the other without too much of a loss.

Interesting question. Ultimately it ends up being your decision, but I understand soliciting other's input. Both iterations are amazing, and either will be exciting and fun. With many vehicles that are offered in coupe or convertible, the convertible is typically less rigid in the structure, less "tight" feeling, but GM says this is NOT the case with Corvette C7. I will say that I LOVE the way the Coupe looks, and I like the Convertible less than the Coupe when the top is up, but when the top is down - the Convertible is the one for me. Probably a good idea to actually see both in person and, when possible, take them for a drive before you pull the trigger (I know it could be April of '14 before you could do that!). I'm going to BG Friday for the 60th Anniversary event just so I can actually see the cars, not just photos. I don't own a Corvette, and unfortunately have never been in a position to own one until now. Unless I see something that completely turns me off about the Convertible, I will be buying the C7 in Convertible. Just my opinion...for what it's worth.

When I see photos of the coupe, I get flashbacks to the 60's and the AMC Marlin.

BlueOx 06-24-2013 10:43 AM

The OP should buy the convertible and Joe will sell him his hardtop option from his '56 so he can have a coupe too!:rofl::rofl:

Hemi Dave 06-24-2013 10:50 AM

I was never a vert guy........ so COUPE all da way :)

stevelischynsky 06-24-2013 11:58 AM

Why can they not design a aux hard top for the convert that looks like the coupe? You'd probably have to remove the trunk and tonneau lids. But it would probably only a winter thing anyways.

StanNH 06-24-2013 12:03 PM

I've always felt that if you can't spell it you shouldn't own it.
