Finally time for the H/C swap

Dropping the car off tomorrow for the build. This one has been a long time coming. Its a shame I dont have time to do it myself as its my DD. This will be the first time I pay to do a cam swap.

Anyway, the car (99 A4) is pretty much fully built from the ground up and I saved the engine for last. Currently as the car sits, it made 305whp 293tq on a Dynolog dynomometer which has a 0% correction. The tunes were done with a FAST92/LS2 TB, and K&N intake with an axleback and x-pipe as the main bolt ons. Before the Fast, the car dynod at 325/325 with an LS6 intake on a dynojet. So I assume that car is in the 330's on a normal dyno.

Other than that, RPM stageII 3.42 diff, Yank billet 3200 stall, poly t-tube couplers, CCW drag pack w/ MT ET streets, Full Pfadt suspension: Feather light "drag specific" coilovers, heavy rate rear sway, poly control arm bushings, and solid engine/trans mounts. And interior stripped w/ a Sparco seat on race days.

All this has allowed me to make a consistent 1/8th mile @ 7.8 ET, 1.8 60' at 88mph.

Because figures are not usually given from this type of dyno, Im not sure what the reading will be after the tune. But I assume somewhere around 350-370 and a little over 400 on a normal dyno.

Any ideas on dyno numbers, and ET and top speed figures after the swap? Im expecting low 7's. Unsure about 60' and maybe 95mph.

Oh, the heads are fully P&P 243's w/ standard 64cc chambers (due to planned FI in the future). The cam is 222/228 on a 114. Everything else is the standard replacement stuff. Strong chain, high vol pump, It does have an ATI damper from when mine failed, lifters, etc.

Of course I will post results in a week when I get it back. But in the mean time I need to occupy myself with whatever I can and hopefully some good discussions on here.

I'd guess about 420 with the A4 and it's stall.

Before the blower install the vert put down 430RWHP with AFRs and a Comp 228/232, so you should be over 400 easy.

I am thinking that the gears and the stall will milk the power down to the low 400 range. I may take it a shop with a dynojet too just to see where it stands with what most guys get tuned on. If its at or above 400, I'll be very happy.

I agree. Not expecting much over 400 if at all. Hoping for the most of course though!

I must say, Im much more interested in the ET decrease rather than dyno numbers. But who doesn't like sexy dyno numbers right?

Good luck!
The ET/MPH will tell the story...if it still hooks up!
