E85 is what I run in mine. Works great if you can get it where you live. At $3.29 per gallon it's cheap for what it is. I only average 15mpg though. But I would rather have the safety of E85 than run 91 octane.

Torco is sold by the drum or can, you only run 32oz of it per fix up or a lil more if you like for higher octane!
|
When i'm going to be racing I mix in some Shell URT 105 or Sunoco 98 since they are unleaded and don't have oxygen in them.
|
93 and one can of Torco per fill up! Never leave home without it:thumbs:

yeah thats what im leaning towards. cheaper than filling up with sunoco 100 every time. any idea on who sells it cheap bulk? prefer 10 x 32 oz bottles then a 5 gallon drum as i live in a condo n storing fuel is a no no.
|
Cool, not sure if torco sold direct but seen it on eBay n amazon for 27 a pop
|
Depends on where you live. They are local so it is easy for me to get some now. Friends stock it at the shop. Other than that, amazon with free shipping is the best bet.

I run race gas in my C6 but was thinking to switch to E85 for the added safety that I hear it provides.
|
$115 shipped for 6 bottles is amazon price. That is less than $20 a bottle.

Don't forget water/methanol injection. It has its own list of problems but I don't like giving up mileage or paying high prices for fuel to just cruise on. Only burn meth when in boost so after paying for the kit the costs are very low.

I mix 104 when I plan on spraying the car. I put about 5 gal of 104 and ~7-9 gal of 93

Fourm vendor link http://www.jbsblownc5.net/products.html I should have mentioned I have a Alky Control Meth Kit as well using VP1 100%. |
I just run 93 octane and a mucho grande amount of meth and i am on 15+ psi.
|
when i race i fill to 1/2 tank, drive to the track and dump in 2 gal of C-16, Cheap insurance, no KR, very small change in AFR. I think i have seen ECS endorse this method.

I just bought some Torco at a local shop and put it in the newly S/C'd GS. Andy at A@A recommends it. $20 a can, but the peace of mind is priceless.

The 5 gallon container does make it a bit more reasonable. I may look into it for at least the hot months... Thanks.
I'll take every bit of help I can. Smaller pulley and stock cam I'm sure the dynamic compression has to be pretty high. Has anyone done a stand alone fuel system similar to n20 or a meth kit? I know it would be another point of failure but having torco or c16 on demand instead of all the time would be nice. |
On eBay seems the best prices 6 pack of 32oz is 19 n change per dose. If u get the 5 gallon for 285 delivered its 14 n change per dose. Bought the 6 pack for now but I'm sure I won't even do a tank of fuel a month so the 6 packs will prob b more than enough for my application
|
i personally prefer the 32oz
torco is VERY hazordous.. the less one has to handle it the better.. pop open a 32oz.. pour it in tank with out getting any on you.. throw it away. No having to deal with measuring it out and pouring it over.. |

You would think with how Kalifornia is full of hippie tree huggers you would have E85 everywhere. But you don't and I'm going to need a 91 tune before I drive out and visit.
Of course, creating E85 is much less efficient anyway. You have to grow it and water the corn and harvest it and turn it into fuel, while making poor people pay more for corn-related food products, whereas the earth's heat and pressure has already done most of the work with petroleum. What we ought to do in the US is all run methanol from our abundance of cheap nat gas. Cheap 110 octane at the pump, anyone? OK, so we'd have to fill up twice as often, but 110, people! |
