Why get a new crankshaft? Reuse the one he has now if he does have one. Stock crank isn't the weak link in the LS motors.

Don't know what brands your friend is considering, but I just ordered mine directly from Callies. They can get just about any piston you want, and can finish it out to your bobweight, etc. Crank/rods ordering from them was cheaper than anywhere else I found. Just took a phone call, and done.

To the OP you can go to Texas speed or you can order crank, rods and pistons directly from Callie's. with Callie's you can do anything from thier comp star stuff to the dragon slayer. Good choice either way. Tell your friend to be careful with his piston ring choice. |

Weak link or not (1) it's not a 4 inch stroke crank (2) it is not a very good idea at all to make the kind of power he wants to make on a stock crank.
