I have owned my 04 Z06 since it was new (March 2004)
I take extremely good care of it. (27,000 miles since new) I have modified it to my tastes. I honestly enjoy it MORE NOW than the day I bought it new. Its a great STRESS relief, and hobby on weekends for me. Its worth a lot to me. Toque http://www.toquez06.com/z06/z-33.jpg |

A lot more to me also
I posted a thread that was inspired by this thread, just to get an idea about similar feelings from other members about their car. Not meant to hijack this thread.

I'm just glad I bought when I did last August. At first I was concerned that I was going to take a beating at the beginning of this year with the announcement of the new C7. So far, I would have had to pay $1k to $3K more for the same car if I had waited. Probably due to spring Corvette fever, but I'm happy all the nay-sayers and price plung folks were wrong,.

I have worked years to get it just how I like it - why would I want to sell it now??
|
no clue. i'm so use to the value of these cars that i couldn't even ponder a guess.
|
Don't know what it looks like its worth, but hope it looks like its worth more than the $4,700 the local chevy dealership said they would give me for my used car lol

I just look at the performance to cost ratio. If I were to look for a car that looks this good, or performs this well new, I'd spend $60k. Instead I bought a 99, plus an 04 and spent less than $45k including upgrades.
The 99 just turned over 80k miles, the 04 just passed 31k. Considering the C5 cost vs new Vette $$, it's kind of hard to beat. |
...happens all the time, last week in the parking lot of HomeLand a nice looking lady says "Nice car, is it new?" Must be worth something for the average non-car babe to like it!
|
i think a lot of the new comments come from how much some of you guys baby your cars and rarely drive them
the average 2002 corvette on the forum is probably 40-50k miles the average 2002 car is about 140k miles a "driver grade" 2002 corvette here on the forum is 70-90k miles cars here are considered high mileage if they go over 100k. high mileage regular cars are typically over 200-250k when you look at the average 2002 car and the average 2002 corvette there's a reason they look new. they are driven half as much |

Now check NADA, KBB is way off pace.
I understand that in some parts of the country, a low mileage 02-04 Z06 can be found for under 20K. But any 02-04 in excellent condition with under 30K miles will sit on the lot after you offer 20K or less with a totally clean car fax in the Atlanta area on average. |
For me my 04 CE is priceless - bought it in 2011 with 13k miles - now have 38k on it and love it even more now then when I bought it - just a fantastic car !!!
Here's a pic from the Corvette Plant last June http://i1077.photobucket.com/albums/...psf2ef0320.jpg Here's the post by the Original owner who i purchased the car from - paid $22k flew out to Los Angeles and drove it back to NH - took 2 weeks getting home and had a blast !! http://forums.corvetteforum.com/c5-c...-22-000-a.html |
