Considering a Wheel Change - What Do You Think Of These?
I'm considering some new wheels for my Vette.
Which do you like best? . Current Wheels - OEM Polished Gumby's . http://i238.photobucket.com/albums/f.../C6AODusk4.jpg . The Wheels I'm Considering - Replica Centennial Cup Wheels - Machined Face over Black (gun metal shown) . http://i238.photobucket.com/albums/f...ps2b5f3473.jpg |
IMO the wheels you have look better.
New wheels look more bronze than gun metal. I like the new wheels.  :flag:
New wheels...and I'm usually a chrome guy.
I'd go with the Centennial wheels - they do look good.
:toetap: A down grade, IMO.
Keep the Gumbys/:thumbs:
Gumbys are forged. Replicas....

Both look good to me. I do like the OEM's better though.
Buy the replicas but don't sell your Gumby's, you never know..
Although I'm partial to chrome I like the new wheels. Go for it. but keep the gumbys.:D
Thanks for all the comments guys!
I actually like the Gumby's a lot. I'd just like to change it up a bit. I'd consider spending up to $500 a wheel; but there just isn't very much out there within my price range. I haven't really seen anything that I like better than what I have. Since my tires are fairly new, I'd prefer to stay with stock sizes, which does limit the selection. |
I've got comp gray cup wheels (replicas) on mine so I'm partial, but I vote for the cup wheels...
Gumby's.
OEM's....keep 'em and spend the $$ on performance mods.

I was not really a fan of gumbys or black wheels ..... until I saw this car: http://i78.photobucket.com/albums/j1...ck1/photo3.jpg Now after seeing that car ..... I really like gumbys in gloss black. http://i205.photobucket.com/albums/b...psd40c9a5c.jpg |
Great job ..

I got a better deal elsewhere though. :cheers:David |

Gumby all the way. Save your $$$.
I prefer the Gumbys.
Neither . I would go 3 piece forged myself..... Wait...... I did .... Lol
I prefer the gumby s from a performance and appearance perspective. Your car looks hot.
To me...increasing unsprung weight is among the worst things you can do to a car. I suggest waiting till your tires wear out and then go up to a more contemporary 1 9/20 light weight setup. A little heavier than stock 18/19 setup but the larger diameter when the time comes will better meet your appearance expectations. JMO |
I'm not a fan of the Gumby's and if you want a change I do like the Centennial rims. But they are an after market rim at mid range price. Quality may or may not be present throughout the four rims.
I actually like the black Gumby's though, this way you get a change and keep the quality. Maybe try Plasticdip first and see how you like the black. I'd prefer a matte over the gloss anyway. |
Anything BUT the gumby's.
I never liked how those looked. How about this, get the new style 5 spoke star mags and have them powder coated in black. That way the car keeps OEM wheels (if that is important to you) as well as still being forged (again if that is important to you) and has an updated look. Seems like a triple win! http://www.performancecorvettes.com/...21918_zoom.jpg Like these without the red stripe. Maybe an Atomic stripe! |
