Everyone relax, it's not 455. When it's on the GM website, then we can start discussing. Trust me, GM has no intent for it to be released the way we all thing it was. Way to sloppy

There are a couple of people here who do claim the C7 will "outperform" the Z06 but they are the minority by far. Most people, you and I included, believe it will be closer in performance than the C6 GS... "competitive" for lack of a better term... but will not outperform it. Some folks like to latch on to the couple of comments where a member is overly optimistic and then never let go :D

Correct and the C7 Z51 will do it even better :D

I have predicted in the past that the Z51 C7 with MSRC will equal or surpass the early C6 Z06's (as they came straight from the factory, tires and all) on some road courses. I still stand by that claim. Time will tell.

From the Corvetteblogger.com.
It was a typo................... ""That same paragraph was also on the official release posted on GM’s official media site, complete with the double commas you see right before horsepower rating. Now, one day later, the official release on the media site has been “fixed” with the double comma removed and the horsepower rating changed back to 450."" Maybe shortly we shall know. The final numbers will affect when I order my C7 anyways. |

I have no doubt. The early Z06's were tire limited but still, if the C7 Z51 is above 7:42 on the Nurburgring, they must have accidentally put an LS1 under the hood.

The GS does that now.

I feel like I've missed something along the way. Can someone point me to where the C7 has run the various road courses including the Ring and the drag strip so I can see the times the C7 turned in so I can compare the C7's times to the times we have of the Z06 on various road courses including the Ring and the drag strip.
I'm not into games, so I would like to see actual numbers please. |

C7
I currently own a 2013 GS with 3000 miles on spedo and bought it because of the body style. When I first seen the pictures of C7 I fell in love with the style and improvements. My kids inheritance will be decreased as soon as my order comes in. If the hp is 450 hp it is an increase over 426hp that I have now. The looks more than make up the difference in hp that some people wish for. If you are not going to buy a C7 what difference does it make. And NO I am not rich. I believe that I can piss my money away as good or better than my kids can.
C5-JIM :hide: |
I'd have no problem with only a 455hp rating if the car weighed only 3100 pounds (or less) fully optioned.
But at nearly 3300 pounds (or more), it 'might' be a little lackluster. Still going to be a damn fast, great handling/braking car though and the styling is stellar in my opinion. :steering: |

Who said the C7 will out perform the current ZO6? I don't remember anyone saying that. Now the GS, that's a different story...

Why does 455HP or whatever matter? We've already have been told by GM 0-60 in about 3.95 seconds ...there's your 2014 performance. If you gotta know, just make your choice to buy from that, and let the HP number fall wherever it falls...

1. We are running out of things to talk about without a real car yet :D 2. Some peoples e-peens grow based on the HP figure of their car's engine (regardless as to the impact on actual performance) so the bigger the number, the bigger the e-peen. :yesnod: |
