temperature outside 56 degrees, temperature inside Vette 88 !
 

I couldnt believe how hot it got inside the Vette yesterday.....Is this what I signed up for?

There has to be a mod for this...?

There are some kits available I believe insulation you can use to help cut down on heat but what year is your car? Does it have headers? The center consel is known to get really hot, or especially if you are in stop n Go traffic. You are basically sitting right above or next to the exhaust that runs underneath the car

When was it 58 BTW yesterday? I see you are from Chicago too..it was like 88 outside most of the day, and even in the early morning I believe low was only in the 60's :crazy:

My Mustangs were modded up to the same power range we have and I never had a problem with the heat.

Not the solution for what??? You're not making any sense. If it's too cold in the car use the heater. If it's too hot use the AC. That's what they're for. What problem are you trying to fix?

I've had C6 Vettes for 8 years now. Summer temps get to about 95° here, never had a problem.

If you're running your A/C and it's not doing any better than that, maybe it needs a visit to the dealer.

Only other solution is to find that Mustang you had. :D

You think it's HOT driving in Chicago, you should be in my car here in Arizona in the summer 115 outside & run the A/C full blast to be comfy while driving, even run it at times during the winter when in stop n go traffic !!:yesnod:

But I think he's complaining about heat from the transmission tunnel. Since he's been a member since 2007, hard to believe he hasn't heard of the issue. We've had a C5 and two C6's, the tunnel area gets a little warm in summer but nothing serious.

Could he possibly have heated seats that are stuck On? Those will burn your ass in a hurry, even during winter.

Your AC system should be able to cool interior to a comfortable level, especially with outside temperatures of 56 degrees. My car, 2006 coupe, easily handles outside temperatures of 90+ degrees.

are your coolant and oil temps normal? other than the AC itself as some mentioned...and the insulation there is not much else you could really do

I guess we all have a different tolerance for this kind of stuff, I noticed my car gets hot around the tunnel area, but not to the point where it bugs me

Is your car stock?

Are your windows broken? Open them up and let in some cool air.

There are insulation sets available for a couple hundred dollars that would be a bargain at a higher price. They provide both thermal and sound insulation/isolation and work like a champ. I installed them when I tore the inside out to install a custom stereo.

Many will argue that it does not matter, but it is nice to have a conversation at highway speeds and keep the car much cooler inside without having to run the climate controls. Much less road noise = much nicer stereo sound.

Kits weigh less than 15lb....way worth the time and expense.:thumbs::thumbs:

People say turn on the AC and the o.p. say that's not the solution and wtf? Also as stated, it's 56 outside and 88 inside, open the windows. I'm missing something here I guess. Is one of the mods removing the AC system to shed weight?

Im very tolerant to alot of different circumstances but this is bad.

Possibly catalytic converters are bad. They get really hot. I've had five of these cars in Texas heat with no problems. Cockpit is so small, the a/c will run you out of there cause it's so cold.

hmm....no other symtoms of bad cats, no gas smell, check engine light, drives nice as it should, no change in mpg. but i will take a look at them

Put in (or have it put in) a insulation kit under the carpet and console. I did and it really helps...no more hot areas even during long trips, and I have LG headers.

Might also want an insulated tunnel plate.
