That is a great, very tasteful job. As you said--some do go over the top with the interior upgrades but this...this is just beautiful.

Thank you! Appreciate the feedback.

Howdo I get one of those
chrome trim rings
for the shifter?
Sources available?
Thx!

Thanks. The chrome trim ring around the shifter should come on an 08+ shift boot. 05-07s didn't get them.

Looks really good but bet your wallet is much thinner.

Thanks! Yup, the wallet took a bit of a hit. It offsets the additional weight from the stitching and leather wrap

There are a few well done interiors on the forums, so to be put in the same conversation is a huge compliment. Thanks!

much better than the GENERAL :toetap:

Thanks! The General did a great job with the rest of the car, just needed a few tweaks on the inside.

The interior comes together nicely.

Thank you. The seats aren't cheap but I'm really happy with them.

Turned out very nice. Doesn't have the "overdone" look.

Thank you! Some folks who prefer something a bit 'louder' may find this a little understated, and that is great for them, but avoiding the 'overdone' look was something I was very mindful of. Nothing too loud, just a few dashs of color with the contrast stitching throughout the cabin.

That's the cleanest interior on any C6 I've ever seen! Where did you get all your parts from?

Thank you! Appreciate it! I got my parts from a variety of sources. Try reaching out to RichieRichZ06, he is a vendor on the forum and service manager at a CA dealership and can get you great rates on OEM parts. If you are in CA and want to avoid Sales Tax, PartsTaxi or GMPartsHouse work well too, but RichieRichZ06 is usually my first choice. Seats were from Caravaggio and steering Wheel is from Apsis.

The pics look great. I imagine its even better in person.

Thank you. Alcantara/Suede is a really nice material and wears really well. I think it goes well as a secondary material alongside the leather in the cabin. And red = fast, so of course I went with red stitching

Yup, that is how I looked once everything was put together! Really happy with how it turned out

What did the upgrade cost? How hard was the dash swap?

Thank you! The upgrade cost will depend on the specific components you want as they range greatly, but overall, it wasn't cheap. I broke it out into a few different phases with the cheaper but higher number of 'accessories' (shifter, boots, handles, wheel, console, etc) being done last year, then the larger and more expensive door panels, dash, and seats this year.

The Dash swap wasn't hard work, but it did take some time as there are alot of steps. Nothing was difficult (with the exception of the center stud removal), just a lot to do. I used the 3LZ Dash Installation Guide from Ray Kawal and that should give you an idea of the level of effort required. If you have any specific questions, I'll be happy to answer.

Thank you. That is good idea... I never thought about them before you brought it up. Ugh, I guess I'm not done after all  :willy:

One of, if not the, nicest interior jobs I've seen yet...no cheese, just class.

FYI, those sunvisor warning labels peeled off easy on my '12...I covered them w/ black hardware-store vinyl tape for a few days (pressed the tape on hard) until the glue loosened them, & then they peeled right off with the tape.

Thank you, I appreciate the compliment. There are a lot of nice interiors I've seen posted on the forums, so to be considered comparable is a huge honor.

That is a great method for removing the airbag sticker. Did you use tape similar to this?

Love the seats.

Thanks! I wish these seats came with the car from the factory. Sure would have saved me a bunch of money! lol

Thanks. Probably a little too much . I plan on keeping the car for a very very long time and I wanted to get this stuff done while the parts were still available.

Only thing I's add - the steering wheel airbag cover.

Amazing looking interior. I wish I could afford to do mine...I would do it the same way.

Congrats

That is the interior the Vette should have come with from the factory to begin with.

Thanks Dave. I know some folks really like the airbag cover, I am kinda neutral on it myself. Don't love it or hate it, so I just used the money on other parts :)

Thanks Greg. Yup, the seats are pretty spiffy. This Saturday will be the first real test at my autocross so I'll see how they do out there.

The stitching looks good.

Thank you! Some of the later cars got something similar with the Centennial and Carbon Editions but having these seats from the factory would have been awesome.

That looks fantastic!! Not over done, just right, Great job!!:thumbs:

Bedouin 05-09-2013 08:05 PM

Jawnathin, the tape to remove the airbag stickers was just a small, cheapo roll of hardware store black vinyl tape...you'll see it in the tape section..@ 1.5" wide x 2" dia.

The tape glue is petroleum based or something, & after a few days it soaked into the decals & they literally peeled right off...I was both surprised & stoked. There was a tiny fingernail sized corner area of the decal (where I didn't apply the tape hard enough) that left some substrate, but a quick dab of Goo-Gone (or kerosene) took that off without a trace.

Absolutely gorgeous.. Very classy... Perfection!!
