Will the C7 be as noisy as the C6?

Out of the 226 lbs added to the C7 was any of this sound insulation? I haven't seen anything addressing interior noise or added insulation/sound deadening....the only thing that I really despiste about my current C6Z DD.

:lurk:

my ZR-1 is quite noisy as well.. but that's due to the Corsa's out back. They tend to drown out any of the squeaks and rattles... :D

My C6's have not been the least bit noisy, and have had three! :nono: :pistols:

I would bet the C7 will be quieter. The stiffer chassis should elimate most if not all squeaks/rattles. Goodness knows Michelin runflats are a LOT quieter than Goodyear runflats.

Really this is such a big concern :toetap::toetap::toetap:
The only noise I hear from my C6s are the exhaust or stereo:crazy2:

:iagree:

I wonder if the OP still has the OEM tires on your Z06. They were very noisy tires and I switched to Michelins. That was by far the noisiest aspect of the car.

Michelin > GYRuncraps:smash:=less noise

Considerably quieter than the current generation in both coupe and convertible.

I agree. I switched to the Bridgestones and that helped a lot. I also added the Block-It mat(that I did before the tire change) and it helped.

People complain about the C6 squeaks and rattles. I know there have been a bunch of complaints about the targa pins squeaking, but the C6 is a tight car. My Z06, even with it's harsher suspension and 25,000 miles, has zero squeaks or rattles. In fact, my C5 coupe didn't have any squeaks or rattles.

Targa top cars are always going to have some noise, just a matter of when. One of the reasons I dont care for them. And yes the Michelins are quite compared to the Junkyears.

Hope so!

Have you heard about this firsthand or is this an assumption?

Firsthand knowledge.

I hear Several other lesser performance cars are much quieter for 1.5x the money...maybe you could dd one of those next?

The fact that they come factory with Michelins will help ALOT.

The LT-1 VVT should enable correction of the irregular ~500-RPM idle and shake that afflicts many C6 LS3s (see various threads on this). I'm much more irritated by this while sitting at a stoplight than the tire/road/wind/etc noise while driving (even with my original GYs). But then we are all irritated by and accepting of different things.

After I took the GoodYears off of my car the quiet was eerie. Amazing how loud those tires are.

Too quite, then you start hearing other noises.

Watch the NCM video for the C7 Bash from April, specifically the interior seminar. It's a relatively long video but answered a lot of my questions. I believe towards the end of the recording, around 45 minutes in, the lady working for GM stated there would be additional 'acoustics' in the rear for noise.
