Not so fast I guess...need opnions
My I'm back post may have been premature...just got the results of the inspection I had done (car is about 90 miles from me) and a couple of issues came up: BTW Car has 92K miles
Oil pan seepage, not dripping on exhaust but definitely leaking (I know this is a common problem, how much should I be worried? A small one inch crack at the upper opening of the right wheel well (tech said it's not accident related could be someone sat on it) This is worrysome to me as it's not going to get smaller. Other issues are normal wear issues, front brakes and rotors, tires, sun visors, auto dim on mirrors wants to stay on, rear view mirror loose. Car is an 07 3LT Z-51 one owner Florida Vert, loaded with most options with 92K miles, price is $25200 Opnions? Thanks Mac I'll be back just maybe not with this car. |
I wouldn't buy it..

Too many miles, too much money, too many future repairs.... JMO |
You can't have a perfect garage queen Vert for $25K. You can have a driver though. You just need to decide what you are looking for.
You could have a new Camry for that money though... |
Could nickel and dime you to death, I would pass.
|
Thanks for the opnions...I'm looking for a driver
just a bit worried about that crack. Anyone have any experience with this sort of thing?
|
Did i read it right, $25k for a 92k mile car with many problems (even small wear and tear items are problems cause they will cost u)??? For 3-5k more you can get a 06-07 with less than 25k miles and in great condition!!! Maybe not a vert, but then save a little more to get the vert as well. Don't settle on a car cause it's in your price range now, either wait or list your priorities in order of importance and see what you can live without...... You WILL get a great car for just a little more money!! Good luck
PS The brakes, rotors, tires, and the other annoyances are going to cost you 3k easy to fix already!!! |
Since you are asking for opinions, I agree, pass on that one. Be patient and you can find a much nicer car for similar price.
|
$25.2k.....tell them to apply the "get real" $8K discount.....and you might be interested...:D
|
Please don't buy that piece. Please wait, for $25k, you will find a better deal with lower miles.
|
Keep looking, you won't regret not buying that beater.
|
I'm out...killing me that's there's nothing in this area. When I'm not looking to buy there are deals everywhere, now nothing. The good one's are all overpriced. Oh Well, patience, I guess. Anyone got one or know of one they want to sell me?
|
Be patient. Your car is out there. Look on Cars.com or AutoTrader.

92K miles, price is $25200, one inch crack, Oil pan seepage, auto dim on mirrors wants to stay on, rear view mirror loose
DUDE!!! r u crazy!!plenny more cars out there in better shape at or below that cost..ill say, offer him $20K |
IMO, even at $20k that $5k difference will be eaten up in no time on the many fixes he's going to need (from what it sounds like.) So i would still say, move on.....

BTW Thanks for your service.

Higher Milagros is not a problem. However the other red flags indicate this car was abused.
I found a 06 z51 6 speed with 40,000 miles. Had long tubes and vara ram and custom sounds as well. For $27,000. And that's in hawaii. In hawaii add 5k to any used car in this condition. |
too many $200-$600 fixes needed imo. someone didn't want to fix these things and now they're all stacked up for the next buyer. a cracked fender I have no idea, but replacement, paint, etc. may be the route to go. the others are as I said: hundreds, but cumulative.
aren't you glad you had an inspection done? btw, who did it ? |
There just aren't any C6 verts for 25K in my world. Some of you guys seem very tough on the prices, but then there aren't any cars to buy at those prices - least, thats how it looks from here. There is no question that a vert adds a few $K's, and is harder to find on top of that.
This is a fairly low mileage, '05 vert, auto trans, near to me. It is in very good condition and offered by a reputable seller. The price is $31k. Good looking car, though. http://www.machaikautodirect.com/use...te_base_w4991_ |
