Garage Queens vs DD's
I've read many threads like this....never thought I would post one.
My wife won an $11,000. raffel for either, the lease on a new car for two years or $11,000. toward the purchase of something at a Ford dealership. We picked the purchase of a used Ford 2010 Focus...it looked brand new....and purchased it for our daughter in Oregon. The salesman tried to sell me a "2009 Vette with 1500 miles. The question was why would someone buy a Vette and not drive it? I drive mine 50 miles a day, 7 days a week. |

There are those that enjoy trying to keep the car as new as possible for as long as possible. They get their enjoyment from a different way that you do. While mine is not a daily driver, I do manage to put 4 or 5 thousand miles a year on it. So I can kind of see both sides. I'm just glad that for whatever reason a person owns one that the car still gives them enjoyment. Hopefully that will keep the Corvette alive for many more years.

When someone buys a Vette, keep in mind that it's their car and they can do what they want with it.

I have a company vehicle that I drive all week. I wish I could drive my Corvette more.

:iagree: And most of the rest of the time, it's been on stands, waiting for me to finish the latest mods or repair. Driving it this next weekend, I hope. |

I love those guys who keep garage queens. They are providing a valuable service caring for a car until I can afford to buy it.

i don't really get it myself. if you take a 2002 z06 with 10k miles you'll get around 22-24k
you could run that car to 120k miles and still get 15k for it and probably have an easier time selling it at first i thought it might be money but modern cars drop regardless of if you drive them or not. i just don't see why someone would buy a c5, sit on it for 10 years and not get out and enjoy it |

He certainly can't drive them all. |
