So very true indeed.

There will surely be those who agree to these "market adjustments" for the privaledge of being an early owner. This will not be the norm for any length of time if at all. The US and world economies are wildly different than they were when guys lined up for the 1st batches of C6s. There is now higher unemployment, people being rapidly converted from full to part time, tax increases of every imagineable nature, stricter lending policies, and most importantly the evaporation of disposable income for this kinda stuff. How have the sales of Porsches, Corvettes, speed boats, etc. been over the last 5 years.

There won't be many willing to bend over to the tune of 5 or 10 grand over the sticker price in this environment.

Put a 10 grand ADM on top of say a $60,000 MSRP going then for 70 large without tax. Trade that car in 18 months and get a number that begins with a 4. This is serious, ugly, depreciation that is all for the guys who bend over.

We dont agree on much but this is spot on!

I have made up my mind after hours of looking at combinations. I am not telling because my friends and club members read this forum. I want it to be a surprise. You can personal message me and I will tell you.

As for the car...

How cheap of leather are we talking? Accidentally scrape it with your name and leave a forever mark kind of cheap.

Suprise!

I am just trying to remind everyone that these prices, in most cases, will not be close to what these cars sell for over the next year or so. There are tens of thousands of people worldwide that are going to want a "$51k" C7. This is going to make supply shrink and price increase!

To those of you who think you want to buy a C7 at MSRP from one of the Forum dealers keep this in mind. 1) It will cost you $1k to $2k to have it delivered to you in an enclosed trailer. 2) There is not a Chevy dealer in the world that will allow you to have your "MSRP" priced C7 "courtesy delivered" when they have C7's with markups of over $5k. So, unless you live close by the "MSRP" dealer, you aren't actually going to be paying "MSRP" for it!

Again, I have been through this with the C5 and C6. C7's at MSRP are just not going to happen. Those of you who boldly say, "Only a fool will pay over MSRP" are not going to have a 2014 C7 in your garage this year! I wish it wasn't going to be this way....but based upon my experiences, it is! Sub $58k-$60k base models aren't going to be in the showrooms anywhere!

C'mon...there have got to be others out there that were here when the C6's hit the showrooms and dealers were selling for over MSRP; every Forum Sponsor included!

Suprise! I live in DFW area and ALL the dealers were at a bonus plus over the MSRP but one. I called 19 dealers and talked to them only over the telephone. I just happened to talk to a factory lady wheel representative and she told me to call a particular sales manager at a local dealer, guess what, he was $2,700 cheaper than anyone else! So yes, it can be done with a little luck! The only negative side, GM gave me a lemon that took 5.5 years to solve 2+ pages of warranty claims, eg. two differential replacements, etc. I won't list them all, but a pain! Hang in there, it can be done!

Does anybody know what is included in the "base" 1LT package? I'd like to know what GM considers "standard"...

ZL-1 04-30-2013 11:28 PM

Last year there was 1LT, 2LT, 3LT, and 4LT. For 2014 there is just 1LT, 2LT, and 3LT. The 2014 1LT is more like 2013 2LT. 8-way power driver and passenger seats standard, power tilt and telescope standard, launch control standard, pretty much everything you really need except head up display is there.

I orderd my 2007 C6 from a forum dealer and had it drop shipped to a local dealer and paid them $300 to push some paperwork around and give me my keys. It does not need to be a two thousand dollar expense.

The 2013 C6 base model coupe with the 4LT (no other options) will have an MSRP of exactly $60,090 with the destination charge added.

The 2014 C7 base model coupe with the 3LT (no other options) will have an MSRP of exactly $60,000 with the destination charge added.

So, there you have it

Some Confusion

Looking at the optional wheels in the order guide I see notes that say "car is being ordered with 2 complete sets of optional whhels". What does that mean? Because if for 1995 on a Z51 I am getting 2sets of chrome wheels I would be crazy not to do it.

Also would like to know price of the GU2 axle for uto equipped Z51.

Thanks!

Everyone is forgetting to add $5-$10k markup that many, if not most, dealers are going to charge....at least for a while that is!

Because of the limited availability and initial interest demand, I was just quoted a 5k mark up for any order placed this year (2014). Anybody else have better luck? I'd like to place my order this week but hate paying a markup let alone MSRP (which I am willing to do):D

Did you try a forum dealer? My wife's vert will be MSRP.

SpinMonster 05-02-2013 04:23 PM

Is the full length spoiler an option? I don't like it and don't want it. I've seen some pics of the car without it.

I guess you weren't here back in 2004 when the C6 was first announced? Same thing is going to happen again.

I do agree that dealers like Criswell have been offering reservations at MSRP. Stand up dealer for sure!

Just wait folks.....this is 2004/05 all over again!

I live in the Chicago area, and my local dealer in Naperville, IL is selling at list. I gave them a deposit a few months ago, and am 2nd on the list. I have my appt. tomorrow morning to review the order.

I would NEVER pay a penny over list for a car. I did pay a premium in 1999 for a Harley Davidson, and vowed "never again".

Not bad on the base price!

If I do a museum pickup is the destination fee waived?
