Hmmm... I snagged my 2013 505HP C6 427 convertible for upper mid 70's... Did somebody say this was a good price for the improvements over the C6? :leaving:
Lots of people are looking at the C7 and won't even look back at the C6, so the 427 convertible you paid "upper mid 70's" for will soon be selling in the $60's. S. |

The market dictates a car's worth. A few options on a 427 convertible pushes the MSRP into the mid-upper $80's. Just because you got one in a fire-sale as dealers prepare for the '14 C7 doesn't necessarily make it a better buy.

My car was loaded - NCM delivery as well - and I custom ordered it right when it was first available last summer. Estimated elsewhere on this site that I have one of only 19 or 20 of the only SSB 427s that were built (don't know for sure yet). But no last minute fire-sale by any stretch. The 'value' of the C7 is overstated as those cars will not be discounted for a while due to the immediate-gratification-at-any-price folks. Point being, NOBODY was paying MSRP for C6 vettes for a long time, so the 'increase' on the new C7 right now is actually a lot more that folks want to admit. Any rational thinking points to the great value of the 2013 427. IMO, not the first-on-the-block pricing for a new C7...
Demand is going to dictate value, as it always does. I have one of twenty stripe-delete, 662hp 2013 GT500's. I haven't purchased my SVT certificate, but would guess it is one of a couple with the standard sport seats and no Shaker Pro. I have no disillusions that it will be of any extraordinary value at 5, 10, 20 or 25 years in the future. And while you didn't get your car greatly discounted, new 427's are selling for up to $17k off MSRP (about 20%), that will absolutely have an effect on the value of those cars already out there. It is the same with ZR1's, they have been hugely discounted for the last 12-18 months ($15-20k off MSRP). When I bought my blue '13 GT-R Premium, I considered a ZR1. However, one of the reasons I bought the GT-R (and there were more factors) was the the ZR1 just wasn't a good value. While it is an incredible performer, look at the resales...they have already dropped into the $70's. I am clearly not saying that the C7 will necessarily hold strong value, but right now, it's value is at MSRP. It will likely drop, but maybe it will hold somewhat strong, it depends how the market reacts. FYI, I have paid MSRP for my last four performance cars because they were high demand models. I have no problem with buying the car now at MSRP ("first-on-the-block", if you will) rather than waiting several years to save money after they get less in-demand or stale. I am glad you are happy with your 427, and it is a great car, I mean no offense by my comments. S. |
Heads Up Display
[QUOTE=vankenn;1583748260]Is there a way to order just the heads up display alone without having to order the entire 2LT package for $4200??
That was my question and the answer to me was a big "NOPE." :( |
