Finally! I got one!

I recently traded in a g8 gxp and my h3 on a Cadillac ats. Almost immediately regretted it, the caddy is a great car, jut not for me right now. I need a little drama in my drive I think.

After weeks of searching, I ended up getting a deal I couldn't pass up and hopped in the car yesterday and drove 8 hours each way to pick this up. Made for a VERY long day, especially in the rain the whole way. But it was worth it.

Went back and forth between this one and a centennial edition, but as much as I loved the interior in the centennial, this car was the best bang for the buck. I was really worried about the red interior, but ended up liking it a lot better in person. And I love the overall look of this one.

Last pic of the caddy, I will miss that one for sure (but not for long)

All tucked in at about 3:30am last night/this morning

Can't wait for the rain to go away and really get to enjoy this thing.
Thanks for looking!

Super stoked really.

Couple small things I noticed today after the drive home, I'm sure the dealer will take care of, just not as simple since I'm a couple states away.

But I've wanted a vette forever and I finally had the opportunity so I went for it.

LMB-Z 04-25-2013 12:07 AM

You just convinced me that I like black wheels better, thanks I kinda figured I would. Also convinced me to keep the red stripes in the process (mine are messed up, and was thinking of going grey)

Thanks everyone else! I'm excited to say the least.

I bought mine used too, so I had no choice, but I do love the red stripe/black wheel combo!

Big Dan 427 04-25-2013 09:43 AM

Awesome!! Drive it in good health...

FAUEE 04-25-2013 09:50 AM

Congrats!

As someone who just traded in a vehicle I loved on a Corvette and thought I would miss it... you're not going to miss the Caddy at all. You'll be too busy wishing you were in the vette to care about the old car.

You may miss the G8GXP and H3 though, but only when you don't want to ddrive the vette (rain, snow, 4 people, etc.)

Congrats on bringing home a beauty.

Nice! New is the best! The original owner of mine titled it in June of 2012....I bought it in Jan for 53k....drive in good health!

chevahaulic 04-25-2013 10:56 AM

Great car. You must have one huge car expense account. The three prior to the vette would put me in the poor house. Your right though... got to have a vette ( or 2 ).

twstokes 04-25-2013 10:58 AM

Awesome! Love that interior.

The h3 / g8 combo was the worst. Mostly from the h3. Gas and insurance was insane.

Save the wave!

Mostly, it rained the whole way back, and I was exhausted.

That's correct, I wish it was a dual roof car, but not upset about the one I have either. I like it a lot more than I thought I would actually

Exesivefire 04-25-2013 11:41 PM

Forgot to mention, I do have an appointment with a local dealer on Tuesday, the darn thing vibrates something weird above 70 mph or so. Hopefully they don't give me any issue since I didn't buy the car there ( I was well into my trip home before I noticed it )

Unfortunately the fender stripes are junk too, the dealer must not have known what they were doing when they put them on. I contacted the original dealer about that as I assume since they are dealer installed that isn't going to be a warranty issue. ( it was raining when I picked the car up and didn't notice how bad they were bubbled) hopefully the dealer returns my email.

Andrew6@TheDoubleAA 04-26-2013 01:04 AM

Congrats on the new addition. Question though, we traded in my wifes Ford explorer that was riddled with issues for a Cadillac SRX and she loves it. Was there anything you didn't like about the ATS?

could be air pressure incorrect, bad spot in tire, wheels not balanced right etc...

Loved the car, just a little "tame" for me... I need a little drama in my drive if that makes sense. In all reality it's a fantastic car. And is light years ahead of anything else I've owned as far as quality.

Air pressure was a little low. i filled all 4 tires up, so it did get better compared to the drive home. However it's still there. Figured I'd rather get It looked at now while the miles are low, than try and explain its been there the whole time when there are a couple thousand miles on the car.

Did you buy used? Previous owner may have hit something or one of the wheel weights could have fell off. I'd take them into get balanced and see if that improves the ride some. Happened in my truck.

Exesivefire 04-26-2013 01:20 AM

No it's a new one..

That does mean it sat for a long time on that lot being a 2012. Could be flat spots? Adding air helped, but didn't solve it. Either way I'd rather be safe than sorry.
It also has Goodyears, I haven't read great things about them.

I'm more worried that I'll have trouble about the stripes than the vibration.

Take it over to the dealer and see what they say. Should be warranty work.

Going in on Tuesday.

Exesivefire 04-27-2013 12:29 AM

Vibration seems to be getting better with time? Maybe the tires really were flat spotted from sitting..

I asked the original dealer to get me new stripes and send them to me. Waiting to see if they are going to.

Thanks guys! Can't wait for a few nice days in a row, I wanna crack the top off

Exesivefire 05-01-2013 11:44 PM

After a small hassle (dealer didn't want to touch my car even though I explained the issue when I made the appt) the dealer ended up road force balancing my tires ( good thing for these forums, I gave him the tsb to pull) good thing too, three of the 4 were way off, two were 30 and 38 lbs off! Had to rotate the tires on the wheels to get them to an acceptable level.

Vibration is all but gone now thankfully. They are ordering me new stripes too so that's good.
