Is the 2014 C7 the Next 1963 Split Window?

Of course there is no substitute for the 1963 split window, but........

In 1963 a lot of Corvette buyers complained about poor visibility with the split window, others thought a split window looked outdated. Chevrolet listened and in 1964 no more split window.

First off, my hats off to GM for taking some styling risks and personally I don't mind the tail lights. But from what I have been reading, over and over and over............ It's no secret that a lot of Corvette fans think the C7's back end is Monkey butt ugly.

Could the non-round tail lights become a one year only C7?

As far as the split windowed '63, I think beside the public complaints, Zora had something to do with the change also. He made it real clear during the design phase that he did not like the split window.

Now as for the new tail lights, I don't foresee GM doing a redesign on the lights, as I am not sure how the round traditional lights will work with teh rear venting, but maybe the rear diffuser. I think that (at least for me) it needs some work and it maybe as easy as having it painted to match the body with just a small amount of the area in black.

I think the styling of the C7 will remain unchanged for the C7 series. There will be slight differences; trim, emblems and electronic upgrades. Engine upgrades; the C6 received a 30 HP increase three years into the series. Split rear window; the design of the roof could/will not support a split window. I personally don't like it on the C2 and wouldn't purchase a C7 with it.

I don't believe the OP was talking about the 2015 C7 having a split rear window. What he was trying to point out was that GM recognized that the spilt window on the 1963 Sting ray was not that popular(in 1963) and that GM made the decision to revise the car's styling after one year. GM also removed the 1963's fake hood vents for the 1964 model.
