This thread had me worried.....

The LT1 is so fat with low end torque that those of you who buy one will forget the LS3 ever existed. You're all hung up on the mere 20hp advantage now, but just wait...after you have lived with the added grunt and the improved fuel economy, we'll see how disappointed you are...

That is exactly where the C7 will shine. It won't slam you back into the seat from 4000 to 7000 RPM like the Z06 does, but at normal RPM's on the street, 1500 to 4000, it will deliver.

Domino's delivers, GM estimates. 1500-4000 you will be dealing with CAGS and AFM.

:beatdeadhorse:

I can't believe the amount of dialogue over this.

Just wait to see the actual numbers. Whatever they turn out to be, the C7 will be superior. Take a deep breath and enjoy the next few months.

If everyone keeps beating all the horses to deaths with their clubs, there won't be any left for the C7. Beside, this is America, where you just shoot them in a drive by.

I actually don't like a powerband with too much low end torque compared to top end hp. My BMW motorcycle is like that. If is very responsive in the low and mid range, then you are disappointed that it goes flat 2000 rpm short of redline. It kind of takes away the fun of driving a manual transmission to me. I want something that pulls hard, but keeps pulling harder as the revs build. I'll be curious to see if that is the case with the C7.

not anymore.

Why build a motor with so much torque when you just dial it back out with torque management?

I would say Brands like Nissan Porsche with the GTR and 911 Turbo would fit this statement better. Those cars are always faster than their HP/lbs would suggest. You might be thinking of the old mid-years where the numbers were kept low for insurance purposes, not today though.
