Just received an email from Chevy stating that the LT1 will produce 450HP and 450lbft

I don't see anywhere else where this has been posted. Apologies if I'm completely blind. Here's a screenshot of the e-mail.

If true yet another disappointment that is the C7

Please re read....... estimated.....
|
You never saw anywhere else, where they have said or mentioned an estimated 450/450. Not in any adds, promos, write ups etc etc?
Then yes, book your eye exam quickly. |
"Estimated" is the key, could go higher and could go lower-kinda like predicting the weather, without any committment to the actual number. Did not see a disclaimer about type of gas being used, hopefullly this is not on E85, LOL.

453/ 452
30 more HP than a mustang... and NO DCT. how underwhelming. They left themself a lot of room for improvement. |
Somebody skipped over the "estimated" before the power numbers. Haha

Then yes, book your eye exam quickly. Either way, as others mentioned it does say "estimated." It just seems strange to me that Chevy would put numbers out there if they weren't somewhat accurate, especially in an e-mail to current owners whom they're trying to sell the new model. |

"PRECISION NEVER RESTS" and "ESTIMATED 450 hp", hmmm, does anyone at GM bother to look at this stiff before sending it out? :willy::D
Must a precise estimate apparently. |

"yet another"? It may be a disappointment, but its consistent with what they have been saying for nearly three months.

Same print as the C7 Stingray brochure they are giving away at the Chicago Auto Show.

Well, the above article was dated Oct. 25th 2012. Pretty sure this was within a day or two of the actual press release. Until the motor is officially SAE certified, everything you read should state "Estimated". There is no estimated certification date, other than a press statement that claimed 1st Quarter of 2013. |
