We dont know if the phone had anything to do with the accident but the driver of the blue car has been seen in multiple pics with the phone while driving.

Dangerous road at speed, preoccupied, with one hand on the controls? That can be dangerous.

Something about this whole crash thing is wrong .1 it happened feb 2nd but the friend who drove by tha site didnt send his buddy the photo till yesterday feb 12th .2 the officel Chev word comes from a web site not Chevy and the rewritten top gun dialog, it gives the haters a lot to cry about.

It does through Mylink which works quite nicely especially with the voice activated commands. It's so easy to use; I don't get why wouldn't he use it.

you might be right! The driver side window is also blown out. I wouldn't doubt he kissed a guard rail above because that stone wall looks to be man made, Then flipped over and landed down againast the wall. None of the earth in front or in back of the car looks to be molested. The car looks like it was dropped there.

:D

the C6 ZO6 with all of the assists turned off then proceeded to spin out and flip over the guard rail and tumble down the cliff killing the want to be hero driver in the process, the Viper being a dodge broke down, drove straight off behind the C6 ZO6 and the Porsche broke down 2 miles down the road.

The C6 driver's last words were "I died before I got put in a home!"

You forgot to mention that the Z06 dropped a valve as it flipped over the guard rail, the Viper driver said to himself, "Well if that ZR1 (what he mistook the Z06 for) can do it...." and the Porsche was turning 9,000 RPM with the engine oil vaporizing as it barrelled straight ahead in steady, German, single-minded pursuit of world domination.

Is that pic of Hwy 1 by "Devil's Slide" here in Nor Cal ? Looks very familiar!

If so, that route is soon to be unavailable to thru trips once the Bypass tunnel is completed this spring.

No, he is just a bitter, bitter Z06 owner whose warranty is running out as his car sits under a blanket in some God forsaken garage in the middle of Nowhere, Missouri, and he has nothing better to do with what little time he has left than to be as much of a nuisance as he can possibly get away with being. You nailed it. I'm bitter because I can walk out into my garage and I have to make the miserable decision as to which of three Corvettes I want to drive or my supercharged Mercedes.

I hang with some 125 Corvette owning couples and I drive some 3500+ miles a year in my Corvettes enjoying the companionship of other Corvette owners.

My nowhere in Missouri location allows me to drive on some absolutely beautiful Ozark twisty roads in any one of my three Corvettes, and I can, and I do, drive in all four directions from my home to visit other beautiful areas of the country. I have visited over two dozen States in my Corvettes.

I'm also bitter because I also love trains. I have ridden trains from as far west as Los Angeles to Providence in the east. From Chicago in the north to San Antonio in the south. I have ridden behind steam locomotives as well as diesels. I have ridden, dined and slept in private railway cars. I've co-authored a book on railroads and have written magazine articles on trains. In three weeks I'll be meeting with some one thousand model railroaders, having to endure another day with my bitter friends.

Fortunately, even while having to endure all that bitterness, I can count on you to bring a little sunshine into my life. Thank you.

I must not spend that much time at my computer. Since you find the time to read all my posts and make silly comments about them, I wonder who really is a Corvette driver and who is an Internet jockey.

Former top fuel driver in both cars and boats, Eddie Hill, is here somewhere.

Yep and bitter old me knew Eddie when he was first getting started back around 1961 with his Pontiac powered dragsters.

I am sure that Eddie is a very nice guy. I saw him race on several occasions and everyone always got a kick out of his rather buxom wife helping stage him. Are you going to play nice now?

I always play nice, I just don't roll over and expose my belly to bullies.

Here is a photo of Eddie back then. If you look closely, it's a twin engine but look even closer and you will see it is a dually. I remember when he first built that car was having a lot of clutch problems. I don't ever remember any other car running dual slicks. Eddie was always looking for an advantage. Even his first Pontiac powered dragsters, used the engine as part of the frame.

When the flag was dropped(that was before the Christmas tree) he would release the clutch but the rear tires would leap about 4" in the air, then come down spinning wildly digging up the asphalt at the starting line. The drag strip's operator/manager (don't remember his name but I spent a lot of time at his house) told Eddie he couldn't run anymore as he was destroying the starting line.

Eddie had his wife pull up behind him in their tow car(I seem to remember it being a 1956 Buick but that has been 50 years ago) and when the flag dropped, she floored the gas pedal pushing Eddie down the strip. When he got out past the starting line, he would then release the clutch and scream down the 1/4 mile.

I just heard from a guy that heard from a guy whose sister used to date the brother of a gm employee that they think the cause of the accident was turbulence at the rear of the car caused by the tail lights that causes a loss of downforce.

C-7 damaged

Despite what one might believe, it has been raining in Arizona. Many days during the testing of the C-7, the roads were wet. Ice existed in some mountain areas. The car went off the road near Globe, not Prescott. Mero was not driving.

Yep. Been there too. 1st time I ever drove a Corvette was driving that road in my brand new 1985 from Cobra Valley Motors up in Globe back home to Phoenix. I was 33 yrs old. So excited to get it, such a dream come true, I cannot remember how I got from Phoenix to Globe to pick it up. True story! For all I know I have had some used car sitting in Globe for for the past 28 years

As much as he wants to deny it, there must be something lacking in his life, to try and be a pest in the C7 section with his negativity. He wants everyone else to share in his misery.

We can confirm that during routine testing, a Stingray was involved in a one-car accident.

During evaluation, the driver was following a 2010 Z06. The Z06 experienced a routine valve train misfunction. (dropped exhuast valve) The valve train misfunction led to a destruction of cylinder head and failure of a piston. The resultant catastraphic cyclinder head damage allowed coolant to flow out of the exhaust. The Stingray hit the coolant while in a tight corner, losing traction and leaving the pavement leading to the accident. Thankfully, no one was hurt, the car received only minor damage, and no citations were issued.

PETA is still investigating reports of 4 coyote deaths due to Dexcool ingestion at the crash site.

Tires catching the edge

I could see how that happens, sometimes driving Southern California's terrible freways in my ZR1, i get caught in many uneven seperations between lanes which causes pulling.......... idiot drivers here are a lot worse.

I've been an editor for various publications, and I've noticed Rolling Stone Magazine, which I get in the mail twice a month, is rife with mistakes. I've even found grammatical mistakes in RS, and they have two weeks to get it right. Motor Trend, which I used to receive, also was loaded with mistakes. Road and Track is one of the best edited car magazines.

As an editor, I've received many electronic news releases with mistakes. One from the National Park Service had mistakes, and the communications manager re-sent it with corrections.

Deb, I agree. JoeC5 needs to be parked for a while, along with a few other C7 haters. Trouble is, no one will park them, so we all suffer. :yesnod:

See you soon.

On that stretch of the main highway from Globe to Phoenix, I simply dislike it. From all the hills and curves with the almost always heavy traffic to my passenger loosing cell phone tower coverage, thats one stretch of hiway I can do without ...

I get my punctuation corrected a lot in the Forum. I consider that a victory. What I said may have been factual but by correcting my sentence I am proven to be lacking in ability.
Funny my Corvette dealer does not complain or correct me.
