to calif.

I drove into Mr. Smog this morning thinking that I was gonna plug in, pass and be on my merry way.

NO ****ING WAY.

The State has cancelled implementation of the "new" smog inspection.

So, you get the whole inspection and dyno.

I passed, but what a bunch of crap.

Did you really think you could get 70 degree weather in January without some kind of "pay back"? To me, that's a small price to pay for this kind of weather.

Getting Jerry Brown twice is more then payback.

Lived in both (Atlanta for 14 years) - see where I am now? :D No comparison.

Cali is, without a doubt, a schizoid state but it has it's charms. The Jerry-Brown-again-thing - my wife and I still haven't figured that one out. Everyone here complains about the taxes, regulations, fees, etc. but they refuse to vote the bastiches out of office, so . . .

We like it anyway. :D

Jerry got elected the first time cuz he was banging Linda R. when she was hot.

Why he got elected this time is beyond me.

Guess I will just stay in the Sunshine State. Weather is fine, no smog checks, no state income tax, no Jerry Brown, and I get to enjoy both my hobbies, the Vette and shooting with no hassles from the state. Florida is just fine with me, but I respect everyones choice to live where they find their own paradise.

flaagan 01-31-2013 06:52 PM

When'd the new smog check rules get dropped? I would've expected to hear something about that.

Michael A 01-31-2013 06:57 PM

If it wasn't for the weather, ocean, and recreational opportunities, this state wouldn't even exist. I know I wouldn't be here. I have never seen such dumb voters in my life. They even vote themselves tax increases.:crazy2:

Lets face it, It's a fabulous place to live, the beauty alone is a great reason to live in CA, maybe not so much in LA, but I live in Pennsylvania, and I can take you to places in both New Jersey and PA that would make you think your in Colorado. But likewise, I don't think you'd enjoy Philadelphia, or parts there-in. I mean even I won't go in there, and with my gun.

But California, I realize the smog is a constant problem. So why doesn't the state impose logical laws or perhaps i should say Mandates. Like making all Post office local vehicles electric opropanean powered. And truck must have theiDieselil engine be upgraded to a level where it does noexpelll so mucsulfurer and smoke. I happen to know for a fact thaDieselsal engines can run on ultra losulfurer and smokeless exhaust. I've been in the shop read thtechnologygy and apositiveve it can be done. The down-side is the cost.

OK, Mr. Obama, you and your EPA want to clean up the smog, put your money where your mouth is. Get truckers LOW -Cost loans to have their engine retro fitted. And ALL new diesel engines must pass the 2020 EPA standards today. That leaves the average motorist, who has been raped year in and year out with ever increasing rules to cut emissions with new rules and regulations so much you need to be both a lawyer and a CPA to jfigureguer out what the hell this years laws are going to be. The EPA now is going to increase the alcohol, or ethanol amount from 10% to 15% which in my 2007 Pontiac owners manual that it MUST NOT be fueled with any fuel having more than 10% ethanol. So I guess I just put the crap in till the engine locks up or I keep buying the 16 bottles of "Lucas Ethanol-Free" fuel additive.
